1. Introduction

3. Setup

3.1. Battery Installation

The Deceptor camera is powered by the included FieldMax Lithium Rechargeable Battery Cartridge or by 8 AA batteries (not included). For optimal performance and extended battery life, the FieldMax cartridge is recommended.

  1. Open the camera's battery compartment.
  2. Insert the FieldMax Lithium Rechargeable Battery Cartridge or 8 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery compartment securely.

3.2. App Installation and Pairing

The Stealth Cam Command Pro app is essential for controlling your camera and managing captured media.

  1. Download the Stealth Cam Command Pro app from your mobile device's app store.
  2. Create an account or log in.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to add your Deceptor camera by scanning the QR code located inside the camera's battery compartment.
  4. Ensure the camera is powered on and has a cellular signal for successful pairing.

  3. Alternatively, attach the camera to a compatible mounting accessory using the 1/4-20 threaded insert.

Adjust the Passive Infrared (PIR) sensitivity to control what triggers the camera. This helps in reducing false triggers from moving grass or small branches.

The Command Pro app features an ON DEMAND function, allowing you to request real-time photos and videos from your camera with the push of a button.

4.4. Network Coverage and App Management

The camera features Automatic Network Coverage, ensuring seamless communication in remote areas by connecting to the best available Verizon or AT&T signal. The Command Pro app allows you to:

5. Maintenance

5.1. Battery Care

If using the FieldMax Lithium Rechargeable Battery Cartridge, ensure it is regularly charged. If using AA batteries, replace them as needed to maintain optimal camera function.

5.2. Cleaning

Periodically clean the camera lens and PIR sensor window with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear images and proper detection. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.

6. Troubleshooting

Refer to the status codes inside the camera's battery compartment (Image 3.1) for quick diagnostics. Common issues and their indicators are:

  • SD Card Error: Red light for SD Card. Ensure SD card is properly inserted and not full or corrupted.
  • Low Battery: Red light for Battery. Replace AA batteries or recharge the FieldMax cartridge.
  • Weak Signal: Red light for Network. Relocate the camera to an area with better cellular reception.
  • SIM Card Error: Red light for SIM Card. Ensure SIM card is correctly inserted.
  • No Active Data Plan: Red light for Account. Verify your data plan status via the Command Pro app.
  • Connection Error: Red light for Connection. Check network signal and data plan. Try syncing the camera again via the app.
