1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the safe and efficient use of your Heng Long RC Racing Boat, Model TH23787-AMZUS2-S. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the boat to ensure proper function and to prevent damage. This product is designed for hobbyists and is not suitable for children under 14 years of age.

2. Setup

2.1 Package Contents

Ensure all components are present:

• RC Boat Model
• Remote Controller
• 8.4V 2000mAh Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery (for boat)
• USB Charging Cable
• Servo, Motor, ESC (pre-installed)

2.2 Battery Installation

1. Boat Battery: Open the battery compartment on the boat. Connect the included 8.4V 2000mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery to the boat's power connector. Securely place the battery inside the compartment and close the cover.
2. Remote Control Battery: The remote control requires 8 x AA batteries (not included). Open the battery cover on the back of the remote control, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators, and close the cover.

2.3 Charging the Boat Battery

Connect the 8.4V 2000mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery to the USB charging cable. Plug the USB cable into a suitable USB power adapter (not included). The charging time is approximately 5-6 hours. Do not overcharge the battery.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Powering On and Pairing

1. Ensure both the boat battery and remote control batteries are installed.
2. Turn on the boat's power switch.
3. Turn on the remote control's power switch. The remote and boat should automatically pair. If not, refer to the troubleshooting section.

3.2 Basic Controls

• Forward/Backward: Use the left joystick (throttle) to control the boat's speed and direction.
• Left/Right: Use the right joystick (steering) to turn the boat.

3.3 Performance

The boat can reach a maximum driving speed of 20-25 kilometers per hour. A fully charged battery provides approximately 10-15 minutes of driving time. Monitor the boat's performance and return it to shore before the battery is fully depleted to avoid being stranded.

3.4 Water Usage Guidelines

• Operate the boat in calm, clear water free of debris.
• Avoid saltwater, as it can corrode internal components.
• Always maintain a clear line of sight to the boat.
• Do not operate during strong winds or currents.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

After each use, especially in freshwater, wipe down the boat with a soft, dry cloth. Ensure no water remains in the electronic compartments. If operating in slightly murky water, rinse the propeller and rudder with clean water and dry thoroughly.

4.2 Battery Care

• Always disconnect the boat battery after use.
• Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Do not store fully charged or fully depleted batteries for extended periods. Charge them to about 50% for long-term storage.

4.3 Storage

Store the boat in a dry, protected area when not in use. Avoid extreme temperatures. Remove batteries from both the boat and the remote control if storing for an extended period.

5.1 Common Issues and Solutions

• Boat not responding:
  • Check if both the boat and remote control are powered on.
  • Ensure batteries in both the boat and remote control are fully charged and correctly installed.
  • Verify that the boat and remote are properly paired. Turn both off and then on again to re-establish connection.
• Low speed or short operating time:
  • The boat battery may not be fully charged. Ensure a full 5-6 hour charge.
  • Check for debris around the propeller or rudder that might be causing drag.
  • Battery degradation over time can reduce performance. Consider replacing the battery if it's old.
• Boat veers to one side:
  • Adjust the trim settings on the remote control (if available) to correct the steering.
