4. Setup and Connectivity

The G5 PRO gamepad supports tri-mode connectivity: wired (via USB 2.0 cable), 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth.

4.1 Wired Connection (PC)

  1. Connect the USB 2.0 cable to the controller's USB-C port.
  2. Plug the other end of the USB 2.0 cable into an available USB port on your Windows PC.
  3. The controller will be automatically recognized by your PC.

4.2 2.4GHz Wireless Connection (PC)

This mode requires a 2.4GHz wireless dongle (sold separately or included with specific bundles).

  1. Plug the 2.4GHz wireless dongle into an available USB port on your Windows PC.
  2. Power on the G5 PRO controller.
  3. The controller should automatically pair with the dongle. If not, refer to the troubleshooting section for manual pairing instructions.

4.3 Bluetooth Connection (PC & Switch)

  1. On PC: Ensure your PC's Bluetooth is enabled. Go to Bluetooth settings and select "Add device."
  2. On Nintendo Switch: From the HOME Menu, select "Controllers" > "Change Grip/Order."
  3. On the G5 PRO controller, press and hold the Bluetooth pairing button (refer to controller diagram if available) until the indicator lights flash rapidly.
  4. Select "Thunderobot G5 PRO" from the list of available devices on your PC or Switch.
  5. Once paired, the indicator lights on the controller will become solid.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press the Home button (Thunderobot logo) once.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Home button for 3-5 seconds. The controller will also automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery.

5.2 Charging the Controller

The G5 PRO is powered by a 600mAh Li-Ion battery, providing up to 8 hours of continuous gaming time.

  • Connect the USB 2.0 cable to the controller and a power source (PC USB port, USB wall adapter).
  • The indicator lights will show charging status and turn off or change color when fully charged.

5.3 RGB LED Customization

The controller features RGB LEDs with 5 ultra-personalized light effects. You can fine-tune key frame animation, adjust speed, brightness, and choose from five vibrant light bead colors.

5.4 Programmable Back Buttons

The two back buttons are fully programmable, allowing you to assign any function or command. This enables easier controls by mapping to a single button or a set of buttons.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface of the controller.
  • For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild cleaning solution, then wipe dry immediately.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as they may damage the controller's finish.

6.2 Storage

  • Store the controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Avoid placing heavy objects on the controller.

6.3 Battery Care

  • Charge the controller regularly, even if not in use, to maintain battery health.
  • Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Controller Not Connecting

  • Wired: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the controller and the PC. Try a different USB port or cable.
  • 2.4GHz Wireless: Ensure the dongle is properly inserted and the controller is in 2.4GHz mode. Try re-pairing by pressing the pairing button on the dongle (if available) and the controller.
  • Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device. Forget the device in your device's Bluetooth settings and attempt to pair again. Make sure the controller is in Bluetooth pairing mode (rapidly flashing lights).

7.2 Buttons/Joysticks Not Responding

  • Ensure the controller is fully charged.
  • Restart the controller and your gaming device.
  • If using wireless, try connecting via wired mode to rule out wireless interference.
  • Check for any firmware updates for the controller.

7.3 Controller Drift

  • The G5 PRO features Hall Effect joysticks designed to prevent drift. If you experience drift, ensure the controller's firmware is up to date.
  • Try recalibrating the joysticks through your PC's controller settings or the controller's dedicated software.
  • Activate the one-button 0 dead zone switching feature (refer to Section 3.4) to see if it resolves the issue.
