1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the VSDISPLAY 15.6 Inch 1920x1080 LCD Touchscreen Monitor. This high-brightness display features a resistive touch panel, a durable metal case for wall mounting, and supports USB video input. It is designed for various applications including DIY projects, secondary displays for PCs/laptops, and outdoor or industrial use.

3. Product Overview

The VSDISPLAY 15.6-inch monitor consists of an LCD panel and a separate controller board assembly, housed within a metal case. The controller board manages video input, touch functionality, and OSD settings.

4. Setup Instructions

  1. Power Connection: Connect a 12Vdc power adapter (minimum 2A, not included) to the designated power input port on the LCD controller board.
  2. LCD Panel Connection: Ensure the 30-pin LVDS cable is securely connected between the LCD panel and the corresponding port on the controller board.
  3. Touch Functionality: Connect the USB touch cable from the controller board to a USB port on your host device (e.g., PC, laptop) to enable touch input. No additional drivers are typically required.
  4. Video Input: Connect your video source to the USB input port on the controller board. The monitor supports USB video playback.
  5. Audio Output (Optional): If using external speakers, connect them to the audio output terminals on the controller board. The board supports 8ohm 2W or 4ohm 2W speakers.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Power On/Off: The monitor will automatically enter a standby mode (power consumption <1W) when no input signal is detected. It will activate upon receiving a valid video signal.
  2. OSD Menu Navigation: Use the buttons on the OSD (On-Screen Display) board to access and navigate the monitor's settings menu. Adjust parameters such as brightness, contrast, and language.
  3. USB Media Playback: Insert a USB flash drive containing media files (video, picture, text) into the USB port on the controller board. The monitor supports direct playback of these files.
  4. Firmware Upgrade: To upgrade the controller board firmware, place the upgrade file in the root directory of a USB drive. Insert the USB drive into the controller board's USB port, then power on the monitor. The device will automatically restart upon successful completion of the upgrade.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Screen: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the screen. For stubborn marks, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Cleaning the Case: Wipe the metal case with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Ensure no liquid enters the internal components.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the monitor in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Display / Black Screen:
    • Ensure the 12Vdc power adapter is correctly connected and providing sufficient power (minimum 2A).
    • Verify that the video source is active and properly connected to the USB input port on the controller board.
    • Check the LVDS cable connection between the LCD panel and the controller board.
  • No Touch Response:
    • Confirm that the USB touch cable is securely connected from the controller board to your host device.
    • Ensure your operating system recognizes the touch input device.
  • No Audio:
    • Verify that external speakers are correctly connected to the audio output terminals.
    • Check the audio settings within the OSD menu.
  • Monitor Enters Standby Mode Unexpectedly:
    • Ensure a continuous and valid video signal is being sent to the USB input.
    • Check the power supply for stability.
