1. Introduction

The MAONO MaonoCaster G1 NEO is a versatile gaming audio mixer and interface designed for live streaming, podcasting, and content creation. The MaonoCaster G1 NEO features an intuitive layout designed for ease of use during live sessions. Key components include:

4. Setup

4.1 Powering On

Connect the supplied USB A-C cable to the DC=5V port on the back of the G1 NEO and the other end to a power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter). The device will power on automatically.

4.2 Connecting to a Computer (PC/Mac)

Use the provided USB A-C cable to connect the G1 NEO to your computer. The mixer will be recognized as an audio input/output device. Select "MaonoCaster G1 NEO" as your default audio input and output device in your operating system's sound settings and your streaming/recording software (e.g., OBS Studio, Discord).

4.3 Microphone Connection

Connect your XLR microphone to the XLR input port on the back of the G1 NEO. If you are using a condenser microphone that requires power, press the 48V button to activate phantom power. The G1 NEO's pro-preamp supports up to 55dB of gain, suitable for most XLR condenser and dynamic microphones.

4.4 Headphone/Speaker Connection

Connect your headphones to the 3.5mm headphone output port (labeled "Headphones" or with a headphone icon) on the back of the G1 NEO. For external speakers, use the "OUT" port.

4.5 Bluetooth Connection

To connect a Bluetooth device for accompaniment input:

  1. Press the Bluetooth button on the G1 NEO. The indicator light will flash, indicating pairing mode.
  2. On your mobile device, search for "MaonoCaster G1 Neo" in the Bluetooth settings and connect.
  3. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator light will remain solid. You can now play music from your device through the mixer.

4.6 Mobile Device Connection (for Streaming/Recording)

To connect a smartphone for streaming or recording, use the supplied 3.5mm TRRS audio cable. Connect one end to the "OUT" port of the G1 NEO and the other end to your smartphone's 3.5mm audio jack. If your phone does not have a 3.5mm jack, you may need an additional official OTG adapter (not included).

4.7 Dual PC Streaming Setup

The G1 NEO supports dual PC streaming. Connect your gaming PC to the mixer via USB-C for game audio. Connect your streaming PC to the mixer via a separate USB-C cable for streaming software and microphone input. This allows for separate audio routing and control.

5. Operation

5.1 Gain and Volume Control

Use the Gain knob to adjust the input sensitivity of your microphone. This should be set to ensure a strong signal without clipping. The Microphone Volume Fader controls the overall output volume of your microphone. The Music Volume Fader controls the volume of any background music or Bluetooth input.

5.2 Noise Reduction

Press the Noise Reducer button to activate the 2-level noise reduction feature. This helps to minimize background noise for clearer audio. There are two levels of noise reduction: Low (20dB) and High (30dB).

5.3 Voice Changer

Press the Voice Changer button to cycle through different voice effects, including female, male, baby, and robot voices. This feature adds an entertaining element to your streams or recordings.

5.4 Custom Sound Pads

The G1 NEO features four customizable sound pads. You can upload your own audio files to these pads to trigger custom sound effects or voice tags during your broadcasts. Refer to the software application (if available) or the online tutorials for instructions on customizing these pads.

5.5 RGB Lighting

The mixer features customizable RGB lighting. Press the RGB button to cycle through 11 different color variations, including solid colors, gradients, and rainbow effects, to match your gaming setup's aesthetics.

5.6 Sidechain

The SideChain feature allows for automatic ducking of background music when you speak into the microphone. This ensures your voice remains clear and prominent during streams or podcasts. Press the SideChain button to activate or deactivate this function.

5.7 Direct Monitor

Press the Direct Monitor button to hear your microphone input directly through your headphones with zero latency. This is useful for monitoring your voice without delay during recording or streaming.

5.8 Loopback

The Loopback function allows you to capture all audio playing on your computer (e.g., game audio, music, system sounds) and mix it with your microphone input. This is essential for streaming and recording gameplay with commentary. Press the Loopback button to enable or disable this feature.

  • Ensure the XLR microphone is securely connected.
  • If using a condenser mic, verify 48V Phantom Power is enabled.
  • Adjust the Gain knob and Microphone Volume Fader.
  • Check if the microphone is muted in software or on the mixer.
  • Verify the G1 NEO is selected as the default input device in your computer's sound settings.
Bluetooth device not connecting.
  • Ensure the G1 NEO's Bluetooth button is flashing (pairing mode).
  • Make sure the Bluetooth device is in pairing mode and within range.
  • Try restarting both the G1 NEO and your Bluetooth device.
Lights (Noise Reducer/Voice Change/Direct Monitor) flicker.This is a known minor issue and generally does not affect functionality. Ensure stable power supply.
Faders abruptly mute below level 3.This is a characteristic of the fader design. Use the dedicated mute buttons for complete silence if precise fading at very low levels is not achieved.
