Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your TECKNET Wireless Doorbell TK-WD996. This portable doorbell kit features an RGB light indicator, IP66 waterproof transmitter, a wireless range of up to 1300 feet, 60 selectable chimes, and 5 adjustable volume levels. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure proper functionality and longevity of the product.

Setup Instructions

1. Receiver Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of each receiver.
  2. Insert 3 AA batteries into each receiver, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Transmitter Installation

The transmitter comes with a pre-installed battery. Choose your preferred mounting method:

Method A: Adhesive Mounting

  1. Clean the desired mounting surface thoroughly to ensure it is dry and free of dust or grease.
  2. Peel off one side of the adhesive pad and attach it to the back of the transmitter.
  3. Peel off the other side of the adhesive pad and firmly press the transmitter onto the cleaned surface for at least 30 seconds.

Method B: Screw Mounting

  1. Carefully open the transmitter casing to access the screw holes.
  2. Mark the desired mounting position on the wall.
  3. Drill two holes at the marked positions and insert the wall anchors if necessary.
  4. Secure the transmitter base to the wall using the provided screws.
  5. Reattach the transmitter casing.

3. Receiver Placement

Place the receivers in locations where the chime can be easily heard throughout your home, such as living rooms, bedrooms, or offices. Consider areas where the RGB light indicator will be visible. The wireless range is up to 1300 feet in open spaces, but walls and other obstacles may reduce this range.

Operating Instructions

1. Pairing the Transmitter and Receiver

The doorbell kit is pre-paired at the factory. If re-pairing is needed or you wish to add more transmitters/receivers:

  1. Press and hold the 'Next Chime/Pairing Button' on the receiver for 3 seconds until the receiver emits a 'ding' sound and the RGB light flashes. This indicates it is in pairing mode.
  2. Immediately press the transmitter button. The receiver will ring and the RGB light will flash, confirming successful pairing.
  3. To pair multiple transmitters or receivers, repeat the process for each unit.

2. Chime Selection

The doorbell offers 60 different melodies.

  • Press the 'Next Chime/Pairing Button' to cycle through the available melodies.
  • Press the 'Previous Chime/Mode Button' to go back to the previous melody.
  • Once you find a desired melody, it will be saved automatically.

3. Volume Adjustment

There are 5 adjustable volume levels, ranging from 0dB (silent) to 100dB.

  • Press the 'Volume Button' repeatedly to cycle through the volume levels.
  • Select 0dB for silent mode, where only the RGB light will activate.

4. RGB Light Indicator

The RGB light on the receiver flashes when the transmitter is activated and a signal is received. This feature is particularly useful for individuals who are hearing impaired or in noisy environments.

5. Memory Function

The doorbell kit features a memory function that retains your last selected melody and volume setting, even after a power outage or battery replacement.

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

When the receiver's sound becomes weak or the RGB light dims, it's time to replace the 3 AA batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in the Setup section.

The transmitter's battery is designed for long-term use. If the transmitter stops working, it may require battery replacement. Refer to the screw mounting instructions to open the casing and replace the internal battery (CR2032 type, typically).

2. Cleaning

Wipe the doorbell units with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the surface.

3. Waterproof Transmitter

The transmitter is IP66 waterproof and dustproof, designed to withstand various weather conditions from -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C). Ensure the casing is properly sealed after any maintenance to maintain its waterproof integrity.
