4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up your AVANTEK BA-12 Wireless Doorbell System:

4.1. Transmitter Installation

  1. Select Location: Choose a flat, vertical surface near your door for the transmitter. Ensure the surface is clean and dry.
  2. Mounting Options:
    • Adhesive Tape: Peel off one side of the adhesive tape and attach it to the back of the transmitter. Press firmly onto the desired location for 30 seconds.
    • Screws: Use the provided screws and anchors to securely mount the transmitter to the wall. This method is recommended for uneven surfaces or enhanced security.
  3. Battery Check: The transmitter comes with a pre-installed CR2032 battery. Ensure the plastic isolation tab is removed if present.

4.2. Receiver Installation

  1. Battery Installation: Each receiver requires 3 AAA batteries (included). Open the battery compartment on the back of the receiver and insert the batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
  2. Mounting: Screw the mounting bracket onto the wall using the provided screws and anchors. Once the bracket is secure, hook the receiver onto the bracket.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed, your AVANTEK BA-12 Wireless Doorbell System is ready for use.

5.1. Changing Melodies

To select a different melody:

  • On the receiver, press the 'Next' or 'Previous' button (typically located on the side) to cycle through the 52 available melodies.
  • The receiver will play a preview of each melody as you press the button.

5.2. Adjusting Volume

To adjust the volume level:

  • On the receiver, press the 'Volume' button (typically located on the side) to cycle through the 5 volume levels.
  • The receiver will play a sound at the selected volume level.

5.3. Memory Function

The doorbell system features a memory function. Your last selected melody and volume level will be automatically saved and restored after battery replacement or power interruption, eliminating the need to reset your preferences.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your doorbell system.

6.1. Battery Replacement

  • Transmitter: The transmitter uses a CR2032 lithium battery with an approximate 3-year lifespan. When the transmitter's LED indicator no longer lights up or the range decreases significantly, replace the battery. Use the provided screwdriver to open the battery compartment.
  • Receivers: Each receiver uses 3 AAA batteries. Replace them when the sound becomes faint or the receiver stops responding. Open the battery compartment on the back of the receiver.
  • Always dispose of used batteries responsibly.

6.2. Cleaning

Wipe the doorbell units with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish or internal components.

6.3. Environmental Considerations

The transmitter is IP55 dustproof and waterproof, designed to withstand outdoor conditions. However, avoid submerging the unit in water. The system operates effectively within a temperature range of -20 °C to 60 °C (-4 °F to 140 °F).

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your doorbell system, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
