3. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install your Scosche MXDM Magnetic Phone Holder:
- Prepare the Mounting Surface: Thoroughly clean the desired mounting surface on your dashboard using the included cleaning wipe. Ensure the surface is dry and free of dust or grease before proceeding.
- Attach the Mount: Peel off the protective backing from the adhesive on the base of the MagicMount. Firmly press the mount against the cleaned dashboard surface for 30-60 seconds. Allow 24 hours for the adhesive to achieve optimal strength.
- Prepare Your Device with MagicPlate:
- For devices with a case: Apply the protective film to the back of your phone or inside the case, then firmly attach the MagicPlate to the film.
- For devices without a case: Apply the protective film directly to the back of your device, then firmly attach the MagicPlate to the film.
Note: All devices must use the included metal plate. This product is NOT compatible with MagSafe without the MagicPlate.

- Adjust Viewing Angle: The mount features a 360-degree rotatable magnetic head with a secure lock-nut. Loosen the lock-nut slightly to adjust your device to the desired portrait or landscape orientation and viewing angle, then tighten the lock-nut to secure its position.
- Cable Management: Utilize the built-in cable clip on the dashboard phone holder to keep your charging cables organized and prevent clutter.

- Mount detaching from dashboard: The adhesive may not have fully cured, or the surface was not clean enough. Re-clean the surface and re-apply the mount, ensuring firm pressure for 30-60 seconds and a 24-hour curing period before use. Extreme temperatures can also affect adhesive performance.
- Difficulty adjusting viewing angle: Ensure the lock-nut on the rotatable head is sufficiently loosened before attempting to adjust the angle. Tighten it firmly once the desired position is achieved.
