Setup

1. Unpacking:

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any damage. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.

2. Initial Charging:

Before first use, fully charge the grinder. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the charging port on the motor unit and to a suitable USB power adapter (not included). The power button indicator lights will show charging status. A full charge is indicated when all lights are solid.

3. Assembly:

  1. Ensure all parts are clean and dry.
  2. Attach the ground coffee container to the bottom of the grinding mechanism.
  3. Attach the bean hopper to the top of the grinding mechanism.
  4. Place the motor unit onto the bean hopper, ensuring it is securely seated.

Operating Instructions

1. Adjusting Grind Settings:

The grinder offers 5 adjustable grind settings. To adjust, remove the ground coffee container and locate the adjustment knob on the bottom of the grinding mechanism. Turn the knob clockwise for a finer grind and counter-clockwise for a coarser grind. Refer to the table below for recommended settings.

2. Adding Coffee Beans:

Remove the motor unit. Add whole roasted coffee beans into the bean hopper. Do not overfill; the maximum capacity is 5oz/150ml. Replace the motor unit securely.

3. Electric Grinding:

  1. Ensure the grinder is fully assembled and charged.
  2. Press and hold the power button on the motor unit to start grinding. The button will illuminate.
  3. The grinder will automatically stop once all beans have been ground or after a set period.
  4. Release the power button to stop grinding manually at any time.
  5. Once grinding is complete, remove the ground coffee container and use the fresh grounds immediately.

4. Manual Grinding:

In situations where electric power is unavailable or preferred, you can use the manual grinding function.

  1. Remove the motor unit from the top of the grinder.
  2. Attach the manual grinding handle to the top shaft of the grinding mechanism. Extend the telescoping handle if desired.
  3. Hold the grinder firmly and turn the handle clockwise to grind the coffee beans.
  4. Continue turning until all beans are ground to your desired consistency.
  5. Remove the ground coffee container and use the fresh grounds.

Maintenance

Cleaning:

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your grinder.

  1. Disassembly: Separate the motor unit, bean hopper, grinding mechanism, and ground coffee container.
  2. Motor Unit: Wipe the exterior of the motor unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse in water.
  3. Burr Grinding Mechanism: Use a small brush (not included) to remove any residual coffee grounds from the ceramic burrs. You can also rinse the burrs under running water, ensuring they are completely dry before reassembly.
  4. Bean Hopper & Ground Coffee Container: These parts are handwash only. Wash with warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely before reassembly.
  5. Reassembly: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling the grinder.

Storage:

Store the grinder in a cool, dry place when not in use. Ensure it is clean and dry before storage.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your grinder, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Grinder not turning on:
    • Check if the battery is charged. Connect to a USB power source and allow it to charge.
    • Ensure the motor unit is securely attached to the bean hopper.
    • Press and hold the power button firmly.
  • Grinding is slow or inconsistent:
    • The battery might be low. Charge the grinder fully.
    • The burrs may be clogged with old coffee grounds or oils. Clean the grinding mechanism thoroughly.
    • Ensure you are not overfilling the bean hopper.
    • For very fine grinds, the process can naturally be slower.
  • Grinder stops unexpectedly during operation:
    • This may indicate the battery is depleted. Recharge the unit.
    • The grinder has an auto-stop feature when the beans are fully ground.
    • There might be a blockage. Disassemble and clean the burrs.
  • Plastic components appear damaged or broken:
    • Discontinue use immediately.
    • Contact customer support for assistance.
