4. Safety Instructions
WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance, installation, or cleaning.
- Ensure the pump is properly grounded to prevent electrical hazards.
- Do not operate the pump dry (without water) as this can cause severe damage and void the warranty.
- Regularly inspect the power cord and pump for any signs of damage. Do not use if damaged.
- Keep the pump and power cord out of reach of children and pets.
- Use the pump only for its intended purpose as described in this manual.
- Ensure the electrical outlet is protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) for outdoor or wet applications.
- Do not lift or carry the pump by its power cord.
5. Setup and Installation
The PULACO water pump can be installed in two modes: Submersible Mode or Ground Mode.
5.1. Component Overview

5.2. Nozzle and Connector Attachment
Select the appropriate nozzle (30mm or 35mm) or 1.5-inch PVC connector based on your tubing requirements. Ensure sealing rings are properly seated for a watertight connection. Use the adjustable fasten steel rings to secure soft tube connections.

5.3. Adjustable Outlet Direction
The pump's outlet direction can be adjusted to suit your setup, offering flexibility for connection angles (0°, 90°, 180°).

5.4. Installation Modes

Image: Visual guide for installing the pump in Submersible Mode (fully submerged) and Ground Mode (external, with the pump below the water line).
Submersible Mode:
Install the pump completely underwater. The IPX8 submersible design ensures safe operation. Use the suction cups to secure the pump to a clean, flat surface at the bottom of your pond or aquarium.
Ground Mode (External Installation):
For ground mode, install the pump lower than the pool/tank water line to ensure water flows to the inlet automatically. This pump does not have a self-priming function. Seal the 1.5-inch PVC connectors with PTFE tape for a secure, leak-free connection. Install the pump in a cool place to prevent overheating. Do not continuously run the pump for over 24 hours in Ground Mode, especially in high-temperature environments, to ensure normal service life.
6. Operating Instructions
Once installed and connected, the pump operates simply:
- Ensure all connections are secure and the pump is correctly positioned for your chosen mode (submersible or ground).
- Plug the power cord into a suitable, grounded electrical outlet. The pump will start working immediately.
- To stop the pump, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
For optimal performance in Ground Mode, ensure the pump is always below the water level of the source to facilitate water intake.

7. Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for ensuring the pump's standard performance and extending its lifespan.
- Disconnect Power: Always unplug the pump from the power source before any maintenance.
- Remove Filter Cover: Detach the filter cover from the pump body.
- Access Impeller: Carefully remove the impeller. Refer to the 'Pump Disassembly Diagram' in Section 5.1 for guidance.
- Clean Components: Use a small brush or a stream of water to remove any accumulated debris, algae, or mineral deposits from the filter cover, impeller, and pump housing.
- Inspect for Damage: Check the impeller and ceramic axis for any signs of wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
- Reassemble: Reassemble the pump components in reverse order, ensuring all parts are securely fitted.
- Regular Cleaning: Clean the pump regularly, especially if operating in environments with high debris or algae content.
