4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the power supply and all accessories from the packaging. Verify that all components listed in the package contents are present:

  • 1 x HANGELL DC Variable Bench Power Supply (HPS3010)
  • 1 x Input Power Cord
  • 1 x Output Power Cord (with banana plugs and alligator clips)
  • 1 x User Manual

4.2 Power Connection

  1. Locate the input voltage toggle switch on the rear panel of the power supply.
  2. Ensure the switch is set to the correct voltage for your region (115V or 230V). Incorrect setting can damage the unit.
  3. Connect the provided input power cord to the power input socket on the rear panel.
  4. Plug the other end of the power cord into a grounded AC power outlet.

4.3 Output Connection

Connect your load to the output terminals on the front panel using the provided output power cord. Ensure correct polarity: red for positive (+), black for negative (-), and green for ground (GND).

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  1. Press the "POWER" button on the front panel to turn on the power supply. The display will illuminate.
  2. To turn off the power supply, press the "POWER" button again.

5.2 Voltage and Current Adjustment

The HPS3010 uses encoder knobs for precise adjustment:

  • Coarse Adjustment: Use the "V-COARSE" knob for large voltage changes and "A-COARSE" for large current changes.
  • Fine Adjustment: Use the "V-FINE" knob for small voltage changes and "A-FINE" for small current changes.
  • Digit Selection: Press any encoder knob to select the digit you wish to adjust. Rotate the knob to change the value of the selected digit.
