1. Introduction
The PGMTDEFXJO GPS7-04 is an intelligent rail-mounted protective device designed to safeguard electrical equipment from damage caused by overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent conditions. This device automatically monitors the voltage and current in a single-phase AC circuit and disconnects the load when parameters exceed or fall below preset safe limits. It automatically reconnects the load once conditions return to normal after a specified delay. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective installation, operation, and maintenance of your GPS7-04 protective device.
2. Safety Information
WARNING: Electrical shock hazard. Installation and maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel.
- Always disconnect power before installing, wiring, or performing any maintenance on the device.

5. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of the GPS7-04 protective device.
5.1 Mounting
The GPS7-04 is designed for DIN rail mounting. Ensure the DIN rail is securely installed in an appropriate electrical enclosure.
- Locate the DIN rail clip at the bottom rear of the device.
- Hook the top edge of the device onto the DIN rail.
- Press the bottom of the device firmly until the clip engages with the DIN rail, securing the device in place.
Figure 5.1: Side view of the GPS7-04, illustrating the DIN rail mounting mechanism. The orange clip at the bottom is used to secure the device to a standard DIN rail.
5.2 Wiring
IMPORTANT: Ensure power is OFF before wiring.
- Identify the 'IN' (Input) and 'OUT' (Output) terminals on the device. Each set has 'N' (Neutral) and 'L' (Live) connections.
- Connect the incoming live wire from the power source to the 'L' terminal of the 'IN' section.
- Connect the incoming neutral wire from the power source to the 'N' terminal of the 'IN' section.
- Connect the live wire leading to your load (equipment to be protected) to the 'L' terminal of the 'OUT' section.
- Connect the neutral wire leading to your load to the 'N' terminal of the 'OUT' section.
- Ensure all screw terminals are tightened securely to prevent loose connections and overheating.

6. Operating Instructions
After successful installation and wiring, you can power on the device and configure its protection parameters.
6.1 Initial Power-Up
- Once wiring is complete and verified, restore power to the circuit.
- The device's display will light up, showing real-time voltage and current. The 'Power' indicator will illuminate.
- If the voltage and current are within safe limits, the output will automatically connect after the default delay time.
6.2 Setting Protection Parameters
The GPS7-04 allows you to customize overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, and delay recovery settings.
Figure 6.1: Function setting diagram for the GPS7-04. This diagram illustrates how to navigate and adjust parameters like overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, and delay recovery using the 'SET', 'UP', and 'DOWN' buttons.
- Enter Setting Mode: Press the SET/Query button briefly. The first parameter (e.g., Overvoltage protection value) will start flashing on the display.
- Adjust Value: Use the UP (▲) and DOWN (▼) buttons to increase or decrease the flashing value.
- Cycle Parameters: Press the SET/Query button again briefly to move to the next parameter. The sequence is typically:
- Overvoltage protection value (e.g., 230V ~ 300V or OFF)
- Undervoltage protection value (e.g., 120V ~ 220V or OFF)
- Overcurrent setting (e.g., 1A ~ 63A)
- Delay recovery time (e.g., 3S ~ 300S)
- Save Settings: After adjusting all desired parameters, stop pressing any button. The device will automatically save the settings and exit setting mode after a few seconds of inactivity.
6.3 Manual ON/OFF Control
The device can be manually switched on or off using the power button.
- Press the ON/OFF button briefly to toggle the output power.
- When the output is OFF, the load will not receive power, even if voltage and current are within safe limits.
- Pressing it again will restore power, subject to the set protection parameters and delay.
7. Maintenance
The GPS7-04 protective device requires minimal maintenance to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the device's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Connection Check: Annually, or as needed, verify that all wiring connections are tight and free from corrosion.
- Environmental Conditions: Ensure the device is operated within its specified environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) to prevent malfunction.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your GPS7-04 device, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device does not power on. | No input power; incorrect wiring; device fault. | Check power supply to 'IN' terminals. Verify wiring. If power is present and wiring is correct, the device may be faulty. |
| Output is OFF, and an indicator light (e.g., >U V) is on. | Protection function activated (overvoltage, undervoltage, or overcurrent). | Check the actual voltage/current in the circuit. Adjust protection parameters if necessary. The device will automatically restore power after the delay once conditions normalize. |
| Device trips frequently. | Protection parameters set too sensitively; unstable power supply; load issues. | Review and adjust protection thresholds (overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent) to appropriate levels for your application. Investigate power supply stability or load characteristics. |
| Display shows incorrect readings. | Wiring issue; device fault. | Verify wiring connections are secure. If readings remain inaccurate, the device may require replacement. |
