5. Maintenance
The Stelpro ST302P thermostat requires minimal maintenance.
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the thermostat's surface with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Inspection: Periodically check for any loose connections or signs of damage. If any issues are found, contact a qualified electrician.
Ensure the thermostat's vents (if any) are not obstructed to allow for accurate temperature sensing.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Stelpro ST302P thermostat, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Thermostat display is blank. | No power to the thermostat. | Check the circuit breaker for the heating system. Ensure it is in the ON position. |
| Heater not turning on/off as expected. | Incorrect temperature setting or programming. | Verify the setpoint temperature. Review programming schedule for accuracy. |
| Inaccurate temperature reading. | Thermostat exposed to drafts, direct sunlight, or heat sources. | Ensure the thermostat is installed in an optimal location, away from external influences. |
| Thermostat not responding to touch. | Temporary software glitch. | Turn off power to the thermostat at the circuit breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power. |
If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, contact Stelpro customer support or a qualified electrician.
