Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

  • To power on: Press the power button (usually marked with a power symbol or located near the eyepiece).
  • To power off: The device will automatically power off after 15 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery.

2. Adjusting the Eyepiece

Rotate the eyepiece to adjust the focus until the display and target appear clear and sharp.

3. Selecting Measurement Modes

Press the "M" button to cycle through the available measurement modes. The SUNPOW C015 offers 5 distinct modes:

  • Distance Measurement Mode: Standard mode for direct line-of-sight distance.
  • Slope Compensation Mode (Golf Ballistic Compensation): Provides adjusted distance based on elevation changes. This mode is crucial for golf to recommend the effective playing distance.
  • Speed Measurement Mode: Measures the speed of a moving target.
  • Elevation Measurement Mode: Calculates the vertical height of an object.
  • Memory Mode (for Archery): Stores previous measurements for quick reference.

4. Using Slope Compensation

The slope compensation feature can be toggled on or off using the dedicated slope switch on the side of the device. When the slope switch is turned on, the ballistic distance and degree of angle will be displayed, providing a more accurate "play as" distance for golf.

6. Flag Pole Locking with Vibration

When targeting a flagstick, the rangefinder will vibrate slightly to confirm that it has locked onto the flag, ensuring you get an accurate reading to the pin and not background objects.

7. Magnetic Mount Feature

The built-in magnet allows the rangefinder to be securely attached to metal surfaces, such as a golf cart frame, for convenient access during your round.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

  • Use the provided microfiber cleaning cloth to gently wipe the lenses and the body of the rangefinder.
  • Do not use abrasive cloths, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the optical coatings or the device's finish.
  • For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the microfiber cloth with water.

2. Storage

  • When not in use, store the rangefinder in its portable carry case to protect it from dust, dirt, and physical damage.
  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

3. Water Resistance

The SUNPOW C015 has an IP54 water resistance rating, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction. While it can withstand light rain, it is not designed for submersion in water. Avoid exposing the device to heavy rain or prolonged wet conditions.

Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the device to the charging cable and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power it on again.
  • Inaccurate readings:
    • Ensure the lenses are clean.
    • Verify that you are targeting the correct object and not background elements.
    • Check if the correct measurement mode is selected.
    • Environmental factors like fog or heavy rain can affect accuracy.
  • Display is blurry: Adjust the eyepiece by rotating it until the display becomes clear.
  • No vibration feedback: Ensure the flag pole locking feature is active (if applicable to the current mode) and that the device has successfully locked onto a flagstick.
