2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Unpacking

  1. Carefully remove the ice maker from its packaging.
  2. Remove all packing materials, tape, and any protective film from the unit.
  3. Ensure all accessories, including the ice scoop and ice basket, are present.

2.2 Placement

  • Place the ice maker on a flat, stable, and level surface.
  • Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit (at least 5 inches of space on all sides).
  • Avoid placing the ice maker near heat sources (e.g., ovens, radiators) or in direct sunlight.
  • Do not place the unit in an enclosed cabinet.

2.3 Initial Cleaning

  1. Before first use, clean the interior of the ice maker.
  2. Wash the ice basket and ice scoop with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
  3. Wipe the interior of the water reservoir with a soft cloth.
  4. It is recommended to run a self-cleaning cycle before making ice for consumption. Refer to Section 4.1 for self-cleaning instructions.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Filling the Water Reservoir

  1. Open the top lid of the ice maker.
  2. Remove the ice basket.
  3. Fill the water reservoir with potable water up to the MAX fill line. Do not overfill.
  4. Replace the ice basket and close the top lid.

3.2 Starting Ice Production

  1. Plug the ice maker into a grounded electrical outlet.
  2. Press the 'Ice/Clean' button once to start the ice-making cycle. The indicator light will illuminate.
  3. The ice maker will begin producing nugget ice. The first batch typically takes about 6 minutes.

3.3 Indicator Lights

  • 'Ice Full' Indicator: This light illuminates when the ice basket is full. The ice maker will automatically pause production. Once ice is removed, production will resume.
  • 'Add Water' Indicator: This light illuminates when the water reservoir is low. The ice maker will pause production. Refill the reservoir to resume ice making.

3.4 Stopping Ice Production

To stop the ice maker, press the 'Ice/Clean' button again. The indicator light will turn off.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Automatic Self-Cleaning

The ice maker features an automatic self-cleaning mode to simplify maintenance.

  1. Ensure the water reservoir is filled with clean water.
  2. Press and hold the 'Ice/Clean' button for 5 seconds. The self-cleaning cycle will begin and typically lasts for 15 minutes.
  3. Once the cycle is complete, drain the water from the unit. Refer to Section 4.3 for draining instructions.

4.2 Manual Cleaning

For a more thorough cleaning or descaling, manual cleaning is recommended.

  1. Unplug the ice maker from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the ice basket and any remaining ice.
  3. The unit features a fully open design for better access. Carefully detach the top cover if necessary, following the instructions in the product diagram (if available).
  4. Clean the interior surfaces, water reservoir, and ice basket with a soft cloth and a solution of water and mild detergent or a descaling agent (e.g., vinegar solution).
  5. Rinse all components thoroughly with clean water to remove any cleaning solution residue.
  6. Wipe all surfaces dry before reassembling and operating the unit.

4.3 Draining the Water

To drain water from the reservoir:

  1. Unplug the ice maker.
  2. Locate the drain plug, usually at the bottom or side of the unit.
  3. Place a container under the drain plug to collect the water.
  4. Remove the drain plug to allow water to flow out.
  5. Once drained, replace the drain plug securely.

4.4 Storage

  • Perform a thorough cleaning and draining as described above.
  • Ensure all internal and external parts are completely dry.
  • Store the unit in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
