Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your FEIYUE FYe350 Sewing Machine. Designed for both beginners and experienced users, the FYe350 features an energy-saving servo motor, heavy-duty capabilities for various fabrics, 23 built-in stitches, and an automatic needle threader for enhanced convenience.

Important Safety Instructions

• Always unplug the machine from the electrical outlet when removing covers, lubricating, or when making any other user servicing adjustments mentioned in the instruction manual.
• Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when this machine is used by or near children.

• Never operate this machine if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water.
• Never drop or insert any object into any opening.

Setup

1. Unpacking and Placement

Carefully remove the sewing machine from its packaging. Place the machine on a stable, flat surface. Ensure adequate lighting for your workspace.

2. Power Connection

Connect the power cord to the machine and then to a suitable electrical outlet. Turn on the power switch, usually located on the side or back of the machine.

3. Winding the Bobbin

Follow these steps to properly wind the bobbin:

1. Install the horizontal spool pin.
2. Raise the needle to its highest position and raise the presser foot.
3. Remove the bobbin cover plate and take out the empty bobbin.
4. Place the thread spool on the horizontal spool pin.
5. Pull the thread from the spool and guide it through the pre-tension spring.
6. Wind the thread clockwise around the bobbin winder tension discs.
7. Thread the bobbin and place it on the spindle.
8. Push the bobbin spindle to the right.
9. Turn on the machine and step on the foot control pedal to wind the bobbin.
10. Cut off excess thread once the bobbin is full.
11. Push the bobbin spindle to the left and remove the wound bobbin.

4. Inserting the Bobbin

Insert the wound bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring the thread runs in the counter-clockwise direction. Pull the thread through the slit and pull out about 6 inches of thread. Reattach the bobbin cover plate.

5. Threading the Upper Thread

Proper upper threading is crucial for stitch quality. Follow the numbered guides on the machine:

1. Place the thread spool on the vertical spool pin.
2. Draw the thread from the spool through the upper thread guide.
3. Lead the thread down the right channel and up the left channel, ensuring it passes through the take-up lever at its highest point.
4. Pass the thread behind the horizontal thread guide.
5. Use the automatic needle threader for easy threading through the needle eye.
6. Lay both the upper and bobbin threads to the back, under the presser foot.

Operating Instructions

1. Stitch Selection

The FEIYUE FYe350 offers 23 built-in stitches, ranging from basic utility stitches to decorative patterns. Use the pattern selector dial to choose your desired stitch. Adjust stitch length and width using the corresponding dials for optimal results on different fabrics.

2. Sewing Buttonholes

The machine features a convenient 1-step buttonhole function. Attach the buttonhole foot, insert your button into the foot's plate, and lower the buttonhole lever. Set the pattern selector dial to the buttonhole stitch and adjust stitch length and width as needed. The machine will automatically sew the buttonhole to the correct size.

3. Heavy Duty Sewing

The FYe350 is designed with a durable metal frame and a high-torque servo motor, allowing it to sew through thick fabrics like denim, canvas, and multiple layers with ease. Maintain a steady pace and ensure the correct needle and thread are used for heavy materials.

4. Versatile Free Arm

To use the free arm feature, slide off the accessory storage compartment. This exposes the free arm, which is ideal for sewing cuffs, sleeves, pant hems, and other small, circular projects.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Bobbin Area

Regularly clean the bobbin case area to prevent lint and thread buildup, which can affect stitch quality and machine performance. Use the provided brush or a soft cloth to remove any debris. Always unplug the machine before cleaning.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

1. Thread Jam Protection

The FYe350 is equipped with thread jam protection. If the thread gets jammed, the machine will stop automatically, and the indicator light will blink. To resolve this, turn off the machine, raise the presser foot, and carefully remove any tangled thread from the bobbin area and needle plate. Re-thread the machine correctly before resuming operation.

2. Incorrect Stitch Tension

If stitches appear loose or uneven, check the thread tension dial. Most general sewing is performed with the tension set between "3" and "5". Adjust the dial incrementally and test on a scrap fabric until the stitches are balanced.

3. Machine Not Running

If the machine is not running, ensure it is properly plugged in and the power switch is on. Also, check that the handwheel is not turned when the machine is not running, as this can sometimes cause issues. If an indicator light flashes, refer to the thread jam protection section.
