Safety Information
Please read all safety warnings and instructions carefully before using the battery. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
- Do not immerse the battery in water or expose it to excessive moisture.
- Keep the battery away from heat sources, direct sunlight, and flammable materials.
- Use only the charger provided by BAFANG. Using an incompatible charger may cause damage or fire.
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
- Do not disassemble, puncture, or modify the battery pack. This can lead to dangerous situations and voids the warranty.
- Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Ensure the battery switch is turned on when charging to allow proper current flow.
- The battery is equipped with a BMS (Battery Management System) for protection against overcharge, over-discharge, over-current, short-circuit, and overheating. Do not attempt to bypass this system.
Package Contents
Verify that all items are present in your package:
- 1x BAFANG Electric Bike Battery
- 1x Battery Holder (Mounting Bracket)
- 1x Battery Charger

Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install your BAFANG electric bike battery:
Battery Holder Installation
The battery holder (mounting bracket) needs to be securely attached to your bike frame. Ensure your bike frame has the appropriate mounting points. The battery holder typically uses the water bottle cage mounts on the downtube.

Image: Visual guide demonstrating the three steps for installing the battery holder onto an electric bike frame.
- Step 1: Prepare Mounting Area - Identify the mounting holes on your bike frame, typically on the downtube. Ensure the area is clean and free of obstructions.
- Step 2: Attach Battery Holder - Align the battery holder with the mounting holes on your bike frame. Secure it using appropriate screws (not included, typically provided with the bike frame or conversion kit). Ensure it is firmly tightened.
- Step 3: Slide Battery On - Once the holder is secure, align the battery with the rails on the holder and slide it into place until it clicks and locks. Use the key to secure the battery to the holder.
Note: There are four holes in the bottom bracket of the product. If you intend to use it as a spare battery, please check the shape of the bottom of the battery to see if it is suitable for your original bracket.
Operating Instructions
Charging the Battery
Before first use, fully charge the battery. Subsequent charging should be done when the battery indicator shows low charge.
- Connect the charger to a standard wall outlet.
- Ensure the battery switch is turned ON.
- Connect the charger output plug to the charging port on the battery.
- The indicator light on the charger will typically show red during charging and turn green when fully charged.
- The battery's integrated indicator lights will also show charging status. When one red light and three green lights are on simultaneously, charging is complete.
- Once fully charged, disconnect the charger from the battery and then from the wall outlet.
Powering On/Off and Indicators
The battery features a power switch and indicator lights to show the remaining charge level.

- Power Switch: Locate the power switch on the battery. Flip it to the 'ON' position to activate the battery for use with your e-bike motor. Flip it to 'OFF' when not in use or during charging.
- Key Switch Safe Lock: Use the provided key to lock the battery securely to its holder, preventing theft. Turn the key to unlock and remove the battery.
- Power Indicator: The battery has a series of LED lights indicating the charge level:
- 3 Green Lights, 1 Red Light: 100% Charge
- 2 Green Lights, 1 Red Light: 75% Charge
- 1 Green Light, 1 Red Light: 50% Charge
- 1 Red Light: 25% Charge (Recharge soon)
Maintenance
Proper maintenance will extend the life of your BAFANG battery:
- Cleaning: Wipe the battery with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the charging port is clean and dry before charging.
- Storage: If storing the battery for an extended period, charge it to about 50-70% capacity. Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Recharge every 2-3 months to prevent deep discharge.
- Temperature: Avoid operating or storing the battery in extreme temperatures. The optimal charge temperature is 0-45°C (32-113°F), and discharge temperature is -20-65°C (-4-149°F).
- Connection Points: Periodically check the battery terminals and mounting bracket for any signs of corrosion or loose connections.
