Important Safety Information
Please read all instructions carefully before using your new Kismile chest freezer. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the freezer is connected to a properly grounded electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords. Unplug the appliance before cleaning or performing any maintenance.
- Ventilation: Allow adequate space around the freezer for proper air circulation. Maintain at least 4 inches (10 cm) of clearance on all sides and the back.
- Placement: Place the freezer on a firm, level surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or extreme cold.
- Initial Setup: After transportation, allow the freezer to stand upright for at least 24 hours before plugging it in. This allows the refrigerant to settle.
- Child Safety: This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Setup Instructions
1. Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove all packaging materials, including foam and adhesive tape. Inspect the freezer for any shipping damage. Report any damage to your retailer immediately.
2. Placement
Position the freezer in a location that meets the ventilation requirements mentioned in the safety section. Ensure the floor is strong enough to support the freezer when fully loaded. The compact dimensions of 20.67" W x 17.12" D x 31.89" H make it suitable for various spaces.

3. Leveling the Freezer
Your freezer is equipped with adjustable leveling legs. Turn the legs clockwise or counter-clockwise to raise or lower the freezer until it is perfectly level. A level freezer operates more efficiently and reduces vibration.
4. Initial Power-On
After allowing the freezer to stand upright for 24 hours, plug it into a dedicated, grounded electrical outlet. The power indicator light (red) will illuminate.
5. Installing Removable Baskets
Place the two removable storage baskets into the freezer compartment. These baskets are designed to help organize smaller items and allow for easy access.

Operating Instructions
1. Temperature Control
The freezer features a 7-grade adjustable thermostat control located on the exterior. Turn the dial to set the desired temperature:
- '0' (OFF): Turns off the freezer's cooling system.
- '1': Warmest setting.
- '7': Coldest setting.
The temperature range can be adjusted from approximately 6.8°F to -7.6°F ( -14°C to -22°C).

2. Indicator Lights
- Red Light: Indicates the unit is powered on.
- Green Light: Indicates the compressor is running and the freezer is actively cooling.
3. Lid Operation
The freezer lid hinges are designed to stay open at angles between 45° and 90°, providing convenient access for loading and unloading food items.

Maintenance
1. Defrosting
Manual defrosting is required when frost buildup reaches approximately 0.2 inches (5 mm) thick. To defrost:
- Unplug the freezer from the power outlet.
- Remove all food items and store them in another freezer or cooler.
- Locate the drain port at the bottom of the freezer. Place a shallow pan or towel beneath the drain to collect water.
- Remove the drain plug to allow water to flow out.
- Once defrosted, clean the interior and replace the drain plug.
- Plug the freezer back in and allow it to cool before returning food items.

2. Cleaning
Clean the interior and exterior of the freezer regularly with a mild detergent and warm water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or sharp objects that could damage surfaces. Ensure the freezer is unplugged before cleaning.
3. Sealing Strip Care
Periodically check the door's sealing strip for cleanliness and integrity. A clean and intact seal ensures efficient operation and prevents frost buildup. The thickened sealing strip is designed for long-term storage of frozen food and is easy to disassemble and clean.
Troubleshooting
Before contacting customer support, please check the following common issues:
- Freezer Not Operating: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a live outlet. Verify the circuit breaker has not tripped. Ensure the thermostat is not set to '0' (OFF).
- Freezer Not Cold Enough: Check the thermostat setting and adjust to a colder setting if necessary. Ensure the lid is closed properly and the seal is intact. Avoid frequent lid openings. Verify there is adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Excessive Noise: Ensure the freezer is on a level surface. Check for any objects vibrating against the unit. Normal operating sounds include compressor hum and refrigerant flow.
- Excessive Frost Buildup: This may indicate the lid seal is not tight, or the lid is being opened too frequently. Ensure the lid is closed completely after each use. Defrost the unit as described in the Maintenance section.
