1. Introduction

The EPOMAKER Shadow-S is a wireless gaming keyboard designed for enhanced gaming and productivity. It features a gasket-mounted design, triple connectivity options, a programmable smart screen, and VIA software compatibility for extensive customization.

2. Package Contents

3. Setup

3.1 Connectivity Options

The EPOMAKER Shadow-S keyboard supports three connectivity modes:

• USB-C Wired Mode: Connect the keyboard directly to your device using the provided USB-C cable.
• 2.4GHz Wireless Mode: Insert the 2.4GHz wireless dongle into your device's USB port. Switch the keyboard to 2.4G mode.
• Bluetooth Mode: Switch the keyboard to Bluetooth mode. On your device, search for the keyboard in Bluetooth settings and pair. The keyboard can store up to 3 Bluetooth devices.

3.2 VIA Software Programming

The Shadow-S keyboard is fully compatible with VIA software, allowing for comprehensive key remapping and customization. Download the VIA software from the official EPOMAKER website to personalize your keyboard layout, macros, and lighting effects.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 1.14-inch Programmable Smart Screen

The keyboard features a 1.14-inch programmable smart screen. This screen can be customized with your own images or selected patterns, adding a personalized touch to your setup. Refer to the VIA software for detailed instructions on customizing the smart screen display.

4.2 RGB Backlighting

The keyboard features full RGB backlighting. Lighting effects, colors, speed, and brightness can be adjusted through the VIA software. Some basic adjustments may also be available directly on the keyboard using function key combinations.

4.3 Hot-Swappable Switches

The Shadow-S keyboard is equipped with hot-swappable sockets, allowing users to easily change mechanical switches without soldering. This enables customization of typing feel and sound. Ensure the replacement switches are compatible (3-pin or 5-pin).

4.4 Keycap Profiles

The keyboard comes with PBT keycaps in a Cherry profile, known for their durability and comfortable typing experience.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the keyboard surface. For keycaps, a damp cloth with mild soap can be used. Avoid excessive moisture.
• Dust Removal: Use compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keycaps and switches.
• Storage: Store the keyboard in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

• Connectivity Issues: Ensure the keyboard is charged and the correct connectivity mode (wired, 2.4GHz, Bluetooth) is selected. For wireless modes, check dongle connection or Bluetooth pairing.
• Keys Not Responding: Try reconnecting the keyboard. If using wireless, ensure it's charged. If a specific key is not working, it might be a faulty switch; utilize the hot-swappable feature to replace it.
• Lighting Problems: Check VIA software settings for lighting effects. Ensure brightness is not set to zero.
• Software Not Detecting Keyboard: Ensure the keyboard is connected via USB-C and is in wired mode. Reinstall VIA software if necessary.
