Setup and Installation

Mounting the Motor

The HASWING Cayman trolling motor is designed for bow mounting.

  1. Position the motor mount securely on the bow of your boat, ensuring it is centered and stable.
  2. Use appropriate marine-grade fasteners to attach the mount to the boat's deck. Ensure the mounting surface is strong enough to support the motor's weight and thrust.
  3. Once the mount is secure, attach the trolling motor to the mount according to the specific instructions provided with your mounting bracket (if purchased separately).

Electrical Connection

This motor operates on a 24V system. It requires two 12V deep cycle batteries connected in series, or a single 24V deep cycle battery.

  1. Ensure the batteries are fully charged before initial use.
  2. Connect the positive (+) terminal of the motor's power cable to the positive (+) terminal of your 24V battery system.
  3. Connect the negative (-) terminal of the motor's power cable to the negative (-) terminal of your 24V battery system.
  4. Verify all connections are tight and corrosion-free. It is recommended to use marine-grade connectors and heat shrink tubing for protection.
  5. Install an appropriate circuit breaker or fuse (not included) in the positive line, close to the battery, to protect the system from overcurrent.

Depth Adjustment

Adjust the motor's depth using the depth collar on the shaft. Loosen the collar, slide the motor to the desired depth, and then tighten the collar securely. The propeller should be submerged sufficiently to avoid cavitation but not so deep as to hit obstacles.

Operating Instructions

Deploying and Stowing the Motor

To deploy the motor, press the deploy/stow pedal and gently lower the motor into the water. To stow, press the pedal and lift the motor out of the water, securing it in its stowed position.

The wireless remote control allows for convenient operation from anywhere on the boat.

Monitoring Battery Life

The LED battery power reader on the motor provides a quick visual indication of your battery's charge status. Monitor this regularly to avoid unexpected power loss.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your trolling motor.
