Setup and Installation

The Cumbor Baby Gate can be installed using pressure mounting, with optional hardware for added security. Installation typically takes less than 20 minutes.

Before Installation:

There may be a gap between the lock and door frame upon unboxing. This is normal for pressure-mounted gates and will resolve once installation is complete and the tension bolts are tightened.

Pressure-Mount Installation (No Hardware):

  1. Place the gate in the desired opening.
  2. Rotate the tension bolts on all four corners until the gate is secure and the gap between the lock and frame disappears. Ensure the gate is firmly in place and does not move.

Hardware-Assisted Installation (Recommended for Stairs):

For added security, especially at the top of stairs, use the included wall anchors and cups.

  1. Install Wall Anchors: Place the gate where you plan to install it and use a pencil to mark the position of the screw holes for the wall anchors. Use a drill to punch the holes, insert the wall anchors, and tap into place with a hammer.
  2. A hand holding a drill next to a wall, indicating the step to install wall anchors for the gate.

  • Check for any obstructions preventing the gate from swinging freely.
  • Verify that the latch mechanism is clean and free of debris.

Gate feels unstable or wobbly:

  • Retighten all four tension bolts.
  • Ensure wall cups are installed and securely fastened, especially if using hardware-assisted installation.
  • Confirm that the mounting surface is flat and structurally sound.
