Operating Instructions

1. Loading the Air Rifle

  1. Engage Safety: Always ensure the safety mechanism is engaged before loading.
  2. Break the Barrel: Firmly grasp the barrel and strike it downwards near the muzzle to break it open. Continue to pull the barrel down until the cocking mechanism locks into place. This action compresses the Nitro Piston.
  3. Insert Pellet: Place one .177 caliber pellet (skirt first) into the breech. Ensure the pellet is fully seated.
  4. Close the Barrel: Return the barrel to its original position by pushing it upwards until it locks securely. Do not slam the barrel shut.

2. Firing the Air Rifle

  1. Aim: Point the air rifle at your intended target, ensuring a safe backstop.
  2. Disengage Safety: Once your target is acquired and you are ready to fire, disengage the safety.
  3. Fire: Place your finger on the trigger and squeeze gently and steadily until the air rifle fires.
  4. Re-engage Safety: After firing, immediately engage the safety mechanism.

Note: The Nitro Piston technology provides a consistent shot cycle. The QuietFire suppression reduces the sound signature, but the air rifle is not silent.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Crosman Shockwave air rifle.

  • Cleaning the Barrel: Periodically clean the barrel using a .177 caliber cleaning kit. Follow the cleaning kit instructions. Avoid excessive cleaning, as it can wear the rifling.
  • Lubrication: Apply a small amount of non-petroleum-based lubricant to pivot points and moving parts as needed. Consult the Crosman website or contact support for recommended lubricants.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe down the exterior of the air rifle with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Storage: Store the air rifle in a cool, dry place, unloaded, with the safety engaged. Keep it in a gun case to protect it from dust and damage.
