- To deploy, release the locking mechanism and gently lower the motor into the water.
- To stow, lift the motor out of the water and secure it in the stowed position using the locking mechanism.
- Adjust the depth collar to set the desired propeller depth.
Maintenance
- After Each Use: Rinse the motor with fresh water, especially after saltwater use, to prevent corrosion.
- Propeller Inspection: Regularly check the propeller for fishing line, weeds, or damage. Clear any obstructions.
- Battery Care: Keep battery terminals clean and charged. Store batteries in a cool, dry place.
- Connections: Periodically check all electrical connections for tightness and signs of corrosion.
- Sacrificial Anode: Inspect the sacrificial anode (located near the propeller) for wear. Replace if significantly corroded to protect the motor from galvanic corrosion.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Motor does not turn on. | Low battery charge, loose electrical connections, safety buckle disengaged. | Charge battery, check and tighten connections, ensure safety buckle is engaged. |
| Motor runs slowly or with reduced thrust. | Low battery, propeller fouled with debris, damaged propeller. | Charge battery, clear propeller, inspect and replace damaged propeller. |
| Remote control not responding. | Remote battery low, remote not paired, interference. | Replace remote battery, re-pair remote with motor (refer to pairing instructions), move away from sources of interference. |
| GPS anchor not holding position accurately. | Weak GPS signal, strong currents/wind exceeding motor capability. | Move to an area with better GPS reception, consider manual control in extreme conditions. |
