Installation
The system uses a 4-wire connection between the indoor monitor and the outdoor units. All units are designed for surface mounting.
1. Wiring Connection
Connect the indoor monitor to the outdoor doorbell and camera using RVV4, Cat5, or Cat6 wires. The maximum distance for wiring can exceed 300 feet (90 meters). Ensure all connections are secure and correctly polarized.
Figure 1: Wiring Diagram. This diagram illustrates the 4-wire connections required between the indoor monitor, outdoor doorbell, and outdoor camera for proper system functionality.
- Indoor Monitor to Outdoor Doorbell: Use a 4-wire cable.
- Indoor Monitor to Outdoor Camera: Use a 4-wire cable.
- Multiple Monitors: If installing multiple indoor monitors, you can connect up to 6 indoor monitors. Connect them in series using 4-wire cables.
- Electronic Locks: The system can connect to all 12V electronic locks for remote unlocking. Refer to your lock's manual for specific wiring.
2. Mounting the Units
All units are designed for surface mounting. Choose appropriate locations for optimal performance and security.
- Outdoor Doorbell/Camera: Mount at a height that allows visitors to easily reach the call button and the camera to capture faces clearly (typically 1.4-1.6 meters or 4.5-5.2 feet from the ground). Ensure the outdoor unit is protected from direct heavy rain, although it is IP66 rated for weather resistance.
- Indoor Monitor: Mount in a convenient location inside your home, such as a hallway or living room, where it is easily accessible.

Setup
After physical installation and wiring, proceed with the system setup.
1. Power On
Connect the power adapter to the indoor monitor and plug it into a power outlet. The monitor will power on automatically.
2. Tuya App Connection (Wi-Fi Setup)
- Download the "TuyaSmart" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
- Register or log in to your Tuya account.
- On the indoor monitor, navigate to the Wi-Fi settings and enable Wi-Fi.
- Follow the on-screen instructions on the monitor and in the TuyaSmart app to connect the monitor to your home Wi-Fi network. Note: The monitor only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi bands.
- Once connected, the video doorbell system will be accessible via the TuyaSmart app on your smartphone. The app supports sharing access with up to 5 mobile phones.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power to indoor monitor | Power adapter disconnected or faulty outlet | Check power adapter connection and try a different power outlet. |
| No video/audio from outdoor unit | Incorrect wiring or loose connection | Verify all 4-wire connections are secure and correctly polarized. Ensure the outdoor unit has power. |
| Wi-Fi connection issues | Incorrect Wi-Fi password, 5GHz network, or weak signal | Ensure you are connecting to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Double-check the password. Move the monitor closer to the router or consider a Wi-Fi extender. |
| Motion detection not working | Settings disabled in app/monitor, or sensor obstruction | Check motion detection settings in the TuyaSmart app and on the indoor monitor. Ensure the sensor area is clear. |
| Remote unlock not functioning | Electronic lock not connected or faulty, or app not configured | Verify the electronic lock wiring and functionality. Ensure the unlock feature is configured correctly in the TuyaSmart app. |
