Operating Instructions
Fueling the Trimmer
This trimmer uses a 2-cycle engine and requires a specific gasoline/oil mixture. Refer to the engine manufacturer's recommendations for the correct mixing ratio (typically 50:1 or 40:1). Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher and a high-quality 2-cycle engine oil.
- Ensure the engine is cool before refueling.
- Mix the gasoline and 2-cycle oil in a separate, approved fuel container according to the recommended ratio. Shake well to ensure proper mixing.
- Carefully open the fuel cap on the trimmer and pour the mixed fuel into the tank, avoiding spills. Do not overfill.
- Securely replace the fuel cap.
Starting the Trimmer (Electric Start)
The electric start feature eliminates the need for manual cord pulling.
- Ensure the 7.2V battery is fully charged and securely inserted into the trimmer.
- Place the trimmer on a flat, stable surface.
- Set the choke lever to the 'FULL CHOKE' position (for cold starts). For warm starts, set to 'HALF CHOKE' or 'RUN'.
- Press the primer bulb 5-10 times until fuel is visible in the clear return line.
- Press and hold the electric start button. The engine should start within a few seconds.
- Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to the 'RUN' position as the engine warms up.
- Allow the engine to warm up for 30-60 seconds before beginning operation.
Trimming Operation
- Hold the trimmer firmly with both hands, maintaining a balanced stance.
- Keep the trimmer head parallel to the ground for even cutting.
- Use a sweeping motion, moving from side to side, to cut grass and weeds.
- Avoid hitting hard objects like rocks, fences, or concrete, as this can damage the trimmer line and head.
- The anti-vibration assist handle is designed to reduce user fatigue during extended use. Adjust its position as needed.
Stopping the Trimmer
- Release the throttle trigger.
- Move the engine stop switch to the 'OFF' position.
- Allow the engine to cool down before storing.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your trimmer. Always disconnect the spark plug wire before performing any maintenance.
General Cleaning
- After each use, clean the exterior of the trimmer with a damp cloth.
- Remove any grass clippings or debris from the trimmer head, guard, and engine cooling fins.
- Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
Trimmer Line Replacement (Rapid Reload Spool)
The rapid reload spool design makes line replacement fast and hassle-free.
- Ensure the trimmer is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected.
- Locate the rapid reload spool on the trimmer head.
- Follow the instructions printed on the spool or in the detailed manual for threading new 0.095" trimmer line through the designated holes.
- Rotate the spool or use the winding mechanism to feed the line into the head until the desired length is achieved.
Spark Plug Inspection/Replacement
- Inspect the spark plug periodically for carbon buildup or wear.
- Clean or replace the spark plug as needed. Refer to the specifications for the correct spark plug type and gap.
Air Filter Cleaning/Replacement
- Check the air filter regularly for dirt and debris.
- Clean the air filter using warm, soapy water, or replace it if heavily soiled or damaged. Ensure it is completely dry before reinstallation.
Storage
- Before long-term storage, drain the fuel tank or use a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation.
- Clean the trimmer thoroughly.
- Store the trimmer in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Remove the battery from the trimmer if storing for an extended period.
