XPG INVADER X Mid-tower ATX PC Case User Manual
Model: INVADERXMT-WHCWW
1. Introduction
Thank you for choosing the XPG INVADER X Mid-tower ATX PC Case. This manual provides essential information for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your new PC case. Please read this manual thoroughly before beginning the assembly process to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your system components.
The INVADER X is designed for enthusiasts seeking a blend of aesthetics and performance, featuring tempered glass panels for component visibility and optimized airflow for superior cooling.
2. Setup and Installation
2.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the PC case from its packaging. Inspect the case for any signs of damage that may have occurred during shipping. Retain the packaging materials for future transport or warranty claims.
2.2 Component Overview
Familiarize yourself with the internal layout and included accessories. The INVADER X features a spacious interior, pre-installed fans, and a vertical GPU mounting option with an included Gen 4 riser cable.

Figure 1: Interior view of the XPG INVADER X PC case. This image displays the internal layout, including the pre-installed rear exhaust fan, three side-mounted intake fans, the motherboard tray with cable routing cutouts, and the power supply unit (PSU) shroud at the bottom. The tempered glass panels are visible on the front and side, offering a clear view of the components.
2.3 Removing Panels
To access the interior, carefully remove the tempered glass side panel. Refer to the case's specific mechanism for panel removal, typically involving thumbscrews or a latch system. Exercise caution to prevent damage to the glass.
2.4 Motherboard Installation
- Ensure the correct standoffs are installed for your motherboard form factor (ATX, Micro-ATX, Mini-ITX).
- Install the I/O shield into the rear opening of the case.
- Carefully place the motherboard onto the standoffs, aligning the screw holes.
- Secure the motherboard with the provided screws. Do not overtighten.
2.5 Graphics Card (GPU) Installation
The INVADER X supports both horizontal and vertical GPU mounting. A Gen 4 riser cable is included for vertical mounting.
- Horizontal Installation: Remove the necessary PCIe slot covers, insert the GPU into the PCIe slot on the motherboard, and secure it with screws.
- Vertical Installation: Mount the GPU to the vertical bracket. Connect the included Gen 4 riser cable to the motherboard's PCIe slot and then to the GPU. Secure the vertical bracket to the case. Ensure the riser cable is properly seated to avoid performance issues.
2.6 Storage Device Installation
The case provides mounting points for 2.5" SSDs and 3.5" HDDs. Locate the drive bays/mounts, typically behind the motherboard tray or within the PSU shroud area. Secure your storage devices using the provided screws or tool-less mechanisms.
2.7 Power Supply Unit (PSU) Installation
Install the PSU into its designated compartment, usually at the bottom rear of the case within the shroud. Secure it with screws from the rear of the case. Route the necessary power cables through the cable management cutouts.
2.8 Cable Management
Utilize the cable routing cutouts and tie-down points behind the motherboard tray to manage cables. Proper cable management improves airflow and aesthetics. Connect all necessary power and data cables to your components.
3. Operation
3.1 First Power-On
After all components are installed and cables connected, replace the side panels. Connect your monitor, keyboard, mouse, and power cable. Press the power button on the front panel. Verify that all fans are spinning and that your system boots correctly.
3.2 Airflow and Cooling
The INVADER X is designed with optimized airflow. The pre-installed fans contribute to efficient cooling. Ensure no obstructions block the intake or exhaust vents. Monitor component temperatures to confirm proper cooling performance.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning Dust Filters
The case includes removable dust filters to prevent dust buildup. Regularly clean these filters (e.g., monthly) by removing them and gently brushing or washing off accumulated dust. Ensure they are completely dry before re-installing.
4.2 Cleaning Tempered Glass Panels
Clean the tempered glass panels with a soft, lint-free cloth and a mild glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that could scratch or damage the glass.
4.3 Internal Cleaning
Periodically, open the case and use compressed air to remove dust from internal components, especially heatsinks and fan blades. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before performing internal cleaning.
5. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| System does not power on. | Loose power cables, faulty PSU, incorrect front panel connections. | Check all power connections (PSU to wall, PSU to motherboard, CPU, GPU). Verify front panel header connections to the motherboard. Test PSU if possible. |
| Fans are not spinning. | Fans not connected, faulty fan, incorrect fan header connection. | Ensure fans are properly connected to motherboard fan headers or a fan controller. Check fan cables for damage. |
| No display output. | GPU not seated correctly, monitor cable loose, faulty GPU/riser cable. | Reseat the graphics card. Check monitor cable connections. If using vertical mount, ensure the Gen 4 riser cable is fully seated and functional. Test GPU in another slot or system if possible. |
| Excessive dust buildup. | Infrequent cleaning, blocked dust filters. | Regularly clean dust filters and internal components as described in the Maintenance section. |
