5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Measuring MicroUSB Cable Quality

To assess the quality of a MicroUSB cable, which can impact charging efficiency:

  1. Connect your mobile phone or other device to the female jack of the USB Meter.
  2. Plug a 5V charger into the male head of the USB Meter. Note the voltage displayed.
  3. Next, use the MicroUSB cable you wish to test. Connect the 5V charger to the MicroUSB hole of the meter via this cable.
  4. Observe the new voltage reading. A smaller voltage drop (difference between the first and second readings) indicates a higher quality MicroUSB cable.

5.2. Measuring Mobile Power Supply Capacity and Efficiency

To determine the actual output capacity and efficiency of a mobile power supply (power bank):

  1. Connect the USB Meter to the mobile power supply.
  2. Turn on the mobile power supply.
  3. Press and hold the button on the USB Meter until the capacity data resets to zero.
  4. Insert your mobile phone or another device into the meter's output port and allow it to charge repeatedly until the mobile power supply is fully discharged and automatically shuts down.
  5. The displayed capacity (in mAH) on the meter represents the actual output capacity from the mobile power supply. Note that this value will typically be lower than the nominal mAH rating due to conversion losses.
  6. To calculate efficiency: (Output mAH × Output Voltage 5V) / (Battery mAH × Battery Voltage 3.7V) = Mobile Power Efficiency.

The USB Meter is shown with text annotations emphasizing its key capabilities: the power-down saving function, which retains data even after power loss, and its ability to accurately measure the output capacity of mobile power supplies.

5.3. Data Switching

The USB Meter supports storing multiple groups of data. To switch between these data groups:

  • Single Click: A single short press of the button will switch to the next group of stored data.
  • Double Click: A quick double-click of the button will switch back to the previous group of data.

5.4. Data Reset

To clear the data in the currently displayed group:

  • Long Press: Press and hold the button for more than 3 seconds. The data in the current group will reset to zero.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and accurate performance of your Fafeicy USB Meter, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, which can damage the display or casing.
  • Storage: Store the meter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
  • Handling: Handle the device with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong impacts.
  • Connectivity: Ensure USB connectors are clean and free of debris before plugging them in to prevent poor contact or damage.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Fafeicy USB Meter, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Display/No Power:
    • Ensure the USB Meter is securely plugged into a working 5V USB power source.
    • Try a different USB port or charger to rule out issues with the power source.
  • Inaccurate Readings:
    • Verify that all connections are firm and free of dust or debris.
    • Ensure the load device is drawing power. Some devices may not draw current if fully charged or in a low-power state.
    • Test with a known good cable and device to isolate the problem.
  • Button Not Responding:
    • Ensure you are pressing the button correctly for the desired function (short press for switching, long press for reset).
    • Disconnect and reconnect the meter to reset it.

If problems persist, please refer to the support information below.
