Your guide to efficient and quiet aquarium aeration.

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Pawfly Aquarium Air Pump. This pump is designed to provide steady and adjustable airflow for optimal oxygenation in your fish tank or bucket. Its ultra-quiet operation and durable construction ensure a healthy aquatic environment with minimal disturbance. Please read this manual carefully before installation and operation to ensure proper use and longevity of your product.

2. Safety Information

  • Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance or installation.
  • Ensure the power cord is not damaged. Do not operate the pump with a damaged cord.
  • The pump is designed for indoor use only. Do not expose it to water or extreme temperatures.
  • Place the pump above the water level of the aquarium to prevent water backflow in case of a power outage. If placing below water level, a check valve is essential.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

5. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your Pawfly Aquarium Air Pump:

  1. Cut Air Tubing: Cut the provided 6.5-foot airline tubing to your desired lengths based on your aquarium setup. Ensure sufficient length to reach the air pump, check valves, and air stones/filters.
  2. Connect Air Tubing to Pump: Firmly attach one end of the cut air tubing to each of the dual air outlets on the pump.
  3. Install Check Valves: Insert a check valve into each airline tubing. Ensure the check valve is oriented correctly to prevent water backflow (usually indicated by an arrow pointing towards the aquarium). This is crucial if the pump is placed below the water level.
  4. Connect Air Stones/Filters: Attach an air stone or air-driven filter to the other end of each airline tubing. If using a T-connector, connect it to one line, then attach two air stones/filters to the T-connector's outlets.
  5. Position Components: Place the air stones/filters inside your aquarium. Position the air pump in a dry, well-ventilated area. Ideally, the pump should be placed above the water level. If placed below, ensure check valves are correctly installed.
  6. Plug In: Once all connections are secure and the pump is safely positioned, plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet.

6. Operating Instructions

Once the pump is set up and plugged in, it will begin to operate. The air pump provides continuous airflow to your aquarium.

  • Adjusting Airflow: Locate the rotatable knob on the top of the pump. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the air volume and counter-clockwise to decrease it. Adjust the airflow to suit the needs of your fish and the size of your tank.
  • Quiet Operation: The pump is designed to be ultra-quiet. If you notice excessive noise, ensure the pump is placed on a flat, stable surface and that the rubber feet are intact to absorb vibrations.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your air pump:

  • Air Filter: Periodically check and clean or replace the air filter to ensure unrestricted airflow. A clogged filter can reduce pump efficiency and lifespan.
  • Air Stones: Clean air stones regularly to prevent clogging, which can reduce bubble production and strain the pump.
  • Tubing: Inspect airline tubing for kinks, cracks, or blockages. Replace damaged tubing as needed.
  • Pump Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the pump with a dry cloth to keep it clean. Do not immerse the pump in water.

8. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
