7. Maintenance and Care
- Clean the adapter with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners.
- Store the adapter in a cool, dry place when not in use.
- Avoid bending or twisting the adapter excessively, as this may damage internal components.
- Do not force the adapter into ports; ensure correct orientation before insertion.
8. Troubleshooting
8.1 Slow Data Transfer Speed
If the transfer speed does not reach the maximum 10Gbps, consider the following:
- Reverse USB-C Cable: The USB-C connector is reversible, but for optimal 10Gbps performance, try reversing the USB-C cable connector and re-plugging it into the adapter.
- Cable Length: Ensure the USB-C cable length is within 3.3 feet (1 meter) for best performance. Longer cables may reduce transfer speeds.
- Device Support: Verify that both your host device (computer) and the connected USB-C peripheral support 10Gbps (USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 2) speeds.

Figure 6: Troubleshooting slow data transfer by flipping the USB-C connector.
8.2 Device Not Recognized
- Ensure the adapter is fully inserted into the USB-A port of your host device.
- Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the adapter and your peripheral.
- Try connecting the USB-C peripheral directly to a USB-C port on your host device (if available) to rule out cable or peripheral issues.
- Test the adapter with a different USB-A port or a different host device.
