3. Setup

3.1 Physical Installation

Mount the device securely on a wall or flat surface at an appropriate height for face recognition. Ensure the camera has a clear, unobstructed view of users' faces.

3.2 Power Connection

Connect the device to a DC12V - 24V power source using the provided adapter. Ensure the power supply is stable and meets the device's requirements.

3.3 Wiring Diagram for Access Control

If integrating with an access control system (e.g., magnetic lock, push button, remote control), follow the wiring diagram below. Incorrect wiring can damage the device or connected components.

3.4 Network Connection

The device supports both WiFi and TCP/IP connections for network integration.

• WiFi: Navigate to the network settings on the device's touchscreen, select your WiFi network, and enter the password.
• TCP/IP: Connect an Ethernet cable to the device's LAN port and configure the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway settings via the device's network menu.

4.3 Data Export and Management

Attendance records can be exported via USB flash drive or managed through the network connection using compatible software.

• USB Export: Insert a USB flash drive into the device's USB port. Navigate to the 'Data Management' menu and select 'Export Attendance Report to U-Disk'.
• Network Software: Connect the device to a computer running the VCHICS attendance management software via TCP/IP or WiFi. The software allows for real-time monitoring, data download, and report generation.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean the touchscreen and camera lenses with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surfaces.

5.2 Software Updates

Check the manufacturer's website periodically for firmware updates. Follow the provided instructions carefully when performing updates to ensure device stability and access to new features.

5.3 Data Backup

It is recommended to regularly back up attendance data to a USB drive or through the network software to prevent data loss.

6. Troubleshooting

• Device not powering on: Check the power adapter and cable connections. Ensure the power outlet is functional.
• Face recognition failure: Ensure the user's face is clearly visible and well-lit. Avoid direct sunlight or strong backlighting. Verify the user's face template is correctly enrolled.
• Network connection issues: For WiFi, check the network password and signal strength. For TCP/IP, verify the Ethernet cable connection and IP settings.
• Data export problems: Ensure the USB flash drive is formatted correctly (FAT32) and has sufficient storage space.
