The Grundig Solo 2 Bluetooth speaker offers over 18 hours of battery life with an integrated battery level indicator. Setup

1. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the speaker. Connect the provided USB cable to the speaker's USB port (Figure 3) and the other end to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port. The charging indicator light will show the charging status. A full charge takes approximately 2 to 3 hours.

2. Powering On/Off

Press and hold the Power button (Figure 2, far right) for 2-3 seconds to turn the speaker ON or OFF. A sound prompt will indicate the power status.

3. Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Ensure the speaker is ON and within 1 meter of your Bluetooth device.
  2. The speaker will automatically enter pairing mode when powered on for the first time, or if no device is connected. The Bluetooth indicator light will flash rapidly.
  3. On your device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  4. Select "GRUNDIG Solo 2" from the list of found devices.
  5. Once paired, the Bluetooth indicator light will stop flashing and remain solid. A sound prompt will confirm the connection.
  6. To pair with a new device, disconnect the current connection or press and hold the Bluetooth button (Figure 2, far left) to enter pairing mode.

4. True Wireless Stereo (TWS) Pairing (Optional)

To enjoy a stereo sound experience, you can pair two GRUNDIG Solo 2 speakers together:

  1. Ensure both Solo 2 speakers are powered ON and not connected to any Bluetooth device.
  2. On one speaker (this will be the primary speaker), press and hold the Bluetooth button for 3 seconds. It will enter TWS pairing mode.
  3. The primary speaker will automatically search for the secondary speaker.
  4. Once connected, both speakers will emit a confirmation sound, and their Bluetooth indicator lights will synchronize.
  5. Now, connect your Bluetooth device to the primary speaker as described in step 3. Both speakers will play audio in stereo.

Operating

Music Playback

  • Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause button (Figure 2, center) to play or pause music.
  • Volume Up: Press the '+' button (Figure 2) to increase volume.
  • Volume Down: Press the '-' button (Figure 2) to decrease volume.
  • Next Track: Press and hold the '+' button for 2 seconds.
  • Previous Track: Press and hold the '-' button for 2 seconds.

Hands-Free Calling

  • Answer Call: Press the Play/Pause button once when an incoming call rings.
  • End Call: Press the Play/Pause button once during a call to end it.
  • Reject Call: Press and hold the Play/Pause button for 2 seconds when an incoming call rings.
  • Redial Last Number: Double-press the Play/Pause button.

Power Bank Function

The GRUNDIG Solo 2 can act as a power bank to charge your mobile devices. Connect your device's charging cable to the speaker's USB port (Figure 3). The speaker will automatically begin charging your device (5V 1A output). Note that using the power bank function will reduce the speaker's playback time.

AUX Input

For non-Bluetooth devices, connect an audio cable (not included) from your device's headphone jack to the speaker's AUX IN port (Figure 3). The speaker will automatically switch to AUX mode. Control playback and volume from your connected device.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the speaker with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the speaker in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the speaker regularly, even if not in use, to maintain battery health.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Speaker does not turn on. Battery is depleted. Charge the speaker fully.
Cannot pair via Bluetooth. Speaker is not in pairing mode; device Bluetooth is off; too far from speaker; previously paired device is connected. Ensure speaker is in pairing mode (flashing light); enable Bluetooth on your device; move device closer; disconnect from other devices or forget "GRUNDIG Solo 2" on your device and re-pair.
No sound. Volume is too low; speaker is paused; incorrect input mode (Bluetooth/AUX); device volume is low. Increase speaker and device volume; press Play/Pause; ensure correct mode is selected (Bluetooth or AUX); check audio cable for AUX.
Sound distortion. Volume too high; low battery; interference. Reduce volume; charge speaker; move speaker away from other electronic devices.
Power bank not charging device. Speaker battery is low; cable issue; device not compatible. Ensure speaker has sufficient charge; try a different USB cable; check device compatibility.
