3.5 Front I/O Panel Connections

The front I/O panel provides convenient access to essential ports and controls.

  1. Connect the USB 3.0 cables to your motherboard's USB 3.0 headers.
  2. Connect the Type-C cable to your motherboard's Type-C header.
  3. Connect the HD Audio cable to your motherboard's audio header.
  4. Connect the Power, Reset, and LED control cables to the corresponding pins on your motherboard. Refer to your motherboard manual for pin assignments.

3.6 ARGB Hub Controller Connection

The pre-installed ARGB PWM fans are connected to an ARGB hub controller. This controller manages fan speed (PWM) and lighting (ARGB).

  1. Connect the ARGB hub controller to your power supply via a SATA power connector.
  2. For motherboard control of ARGB lighting, connect the 3-pin LED connector from the hub to your motherboard's 5V ARGB header (e.g., GIGABYTE VDG header or AURA motherboard AIO header).
  3. The hub also supports connection to the Reset SW or LED SW for manual control if motherboard synchronization is not desired or available.

3.7 Cable Management

Utilize the dual-cavity design and cable routing cutouts to manage cables effectively. This improves airflow and maintains a clean internal appearance.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

Press the Power button on the front I/O panel to turn your system on or off. A short press typically initiates power-on, while a longer press (usually 4-5 seconds) can force a shutdown.

4.2 ARGB Lighting Control

The pre-installed ARGB fans offer customizable lighting. Control methods depend on your setup:

  • Motherboard Software: If the ARGB hub is connected to a compatible 5V ARGB header on your motherboard, use your motherboard's RGB software (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, GIGABYTE RGB Fusion, MSI Mystic Light) to synchronize and customize lighting effects.
  • Case LED Button: If connected to the case's LED control button (often shared with Reset button functionality), short presses may cycle through pre-set lighting modes.

4.3 Fan Speed Control

The pre-installed fans are PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) enabled, allowing for dynamic speed control.

  • Motherboard BIOS/Software: Adjust fan curves and speeds through your motherboard's BIOS settings or dedicated fan control software.
  • The PWM function allows fans to adjust speed based on system temperature, optimizing cooling performance and noise levels.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Dust Filter Cleaning

The SAMA 2851A features high-quality dust filters to prevent dust accumulation. Regular cleaning is recommended to maintain optimal airflow and cooling performance.

  1. Locate the magnetic dust filters (typically on the top and bottom of the case).
  2. Gently remove the filters.
  3. Clean the filters using compressed air, a soft brush, or by rinsing with water (ensure they are completely dry before re-installing).
  4. Re-attach the magnetic dust filters.

5.2 Case Cleaning

To clean the exterior and interior of the case:

  • Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down exterior surfaces, including the tempered glass panels. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • For interior cleaning, use compressed air to remove dust from components and hard-to-reach areas. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Missing Motherboard Standoffs: If your ATX motherboard requires 9 standoffs and only 6 are pre-installed, check the accessory box for additional standoffs. Install all necessary standoffs to prevent motherboard warping and damage.
  • ARGB/Fan Hub Issues: If fans or RGB lighting are not functioning correctly, verify all connections to the ARGB hub controller, including SATA power and motherboard ARGB headers. Ensure the hub is securely mounted and not interfering with other components.
  • Cable Management Challenges: Some cables, particularly from the fan hub, may be short or difficult to route. Plan your cable paths carefully before securing components. Consider using additional cable ties for a cleaner setup.
  • I/O Panel Not Functioning: Double-check all front I/O panel connections to the motherboard. Ensure they are correctly seated and aligned with the motherboard's pin assignments.
