4. Installation and Wiring

Proper installation and wiring are crucial for the safe and effective operation of the BMS. Follow these steps carefully:

  1. Step 1: Solder Sampling Cables. Connect the sampling cables to your battery pack. The first black cable in the sampling set connects to the negative terminal of the battery. The second cable (red) connects to the positive terminal of the first string of batteries, and subsequent red cables connect to the positive terminals of the remaining battery strings, in sequence, until all cables are connected.
  2. Step 2: Check the Cables. After connecting the sampling cables, measure the voltage between two adjacent cables starting from the header. Ensure there are no wrong connections or missing connections.
  3. Step 3: Connect Output Wires. Connect the B- wire of the BMS to the total negative terminal of the battery pack. Then, plug the sampling cable to the BMS. After activating the BMS, verify that the voltage (battery voltage) between B+ and B- and the voltage between P+ and P- are consistent.

Important Safety Note: Incorrect wiring can damage the BMS, battery pack, and connected equipment. If you are unsure about any step, consult a qualified technician.

5. Operation and Monitoring

The DALY BMS features a smart application for monitoring and managing your battery pack. The 2-in-1 Bluetooth/Wi-Fi dongle allows flexible connectivity.

5.1 Mobile App Connectivity

Connect the 2-in-1 dongle to the BMS. You can then connect to the mobile app via Bluetooth for local monitoring. For remote monitoring, connect the dongle to a Wi-Fi router, and then access the battery status and adjust parameters from anywhere via the app.

7. Safety Information

The DALY BMS is designed with multiple protection features to ensure the safety of your battery system. These include:

  • Overcharge Protection
  • Over-discharge Protection
  • Overcurrent Protection
  • Short Circuit Protection
  • Temperature Protection
  • Cell Balancing (Passive Equalization)

Always adhere to proper battery handling and wiring procedures. Do not attempt to modify the BMS or use it outside its specified parameters.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your DALY BMS, consider the following general troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power/No Communication: Check all wiring connections for proper seating and continuity. Ensure the battery pack is adequately charged. Verify the communication dongle is correctly inserted and powered.
  • App Connectivity Issues: For Bluetooth, ensure the dongle is within range and not obstructed. For Wi-Fi, confirm the dongle is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network and the router has internet access. Try restarting the app or the BMS.
  • Protection Triggered: If the BMS enters a protection state (e.g., overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent), identify the cause. This may require checking individual cell voltages, current draw, or temperature. Address the underlying issue before attempting to reset the BMS.
  • Cell Imbalance: If cell voltages are significantly different, ensure the balancing function is enabled in the app (if applicable) and allow time for balancing to occur.

For persistent issues, refer to the detailed troubleshooting section in the full product manual or contact DALY customer support.
