5. Setup
5.1 Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge the built-in rechargeable battery using one of the following methods:
- USB-C Charging: Connect the provided USB-C cable to the radio's USB-C input port and plug the other end into a USB power source (e.g., AC adapter, computer, power bank). The charging indicator on the LCD display will show progress.
- Solar Charging: Place the radio with the solar panel facing direct sunlight. This method is primarily for maintaining charge or slow charging in emergencies.
- Hand Crank Charging: Rotate the hand crank clockwise or counter-clockwise at a steady pace (130-150 RPM) for 3-5 minutes to generate enough power for initial use or short bursts of functionality.
5.2 AAA Battery Installation (Optional)
For an additional power backup, you can install 3 AAA batteries (not included):
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio.
- Insert 3 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
- Press the POWER button to turn the radio on or off.
- Long press the Dimmer button to turn off the backlit LCD screen and enter power-saving mode.
6.2 Radio Tuning (AM/FM/SW/NOAA)
- Press the BAND button to cycle through AM, FM, SW, and NOAA weather bands.
- Extend the telescopic antenna for optimal reception, especially for FM and SW bands.
- Use the TUNE + or TUNE - buttons to manually adjust the frequency. Long press these buttons for auto-scan to find available stations.
- Adjust volume using the VOL + and VOL - buttons.
6.3 NOAA Weather Alert
- In standby mode or when powered on, the radio automatically scans for emergency and weather alerts.
- When an alert is issued, the radio will sound an alarm and display the alert information.
- Press the WX ALERT button to manually check for weather alerts.
6.4 Flashlight & Reading Lamp
- Flashlight: Press the flashlight button on the side of the radio to turn on the 3W flashlight. Press again to cycle through brightness modes or turn off.
- Reading Lamp: Lift the solar panel cover to reveal the 2.5W reading lamp. Press the lamp button on the side to turn it on/off.
6.5 SOS Alarm
- In an emergency, long press the SOS button to activate a loud siren and a flashing red light.
- Press the SOS button again to deactivate the alarm.
6.6 Charging External Devices
- Connect your USB-enabled smart device to the USB output port (USB Charging 5V/1A) on the side of the radio.
- The radio's internal battery will charge your device.
6.7 Headphone Jack
- Plug standard 3.5mm headphones into the headphone jack for private listening.
