Key Components:

  • Control Panel: Located on the top surface, featuring digital display and touch controls for various settings.
  • Air Intake Grille: Located on the back, where humid air enters the unit.
  • Air Outlet: Located on the top, where dehumidified air is expelled.
  • Removable Water Bucket: Located at the front-bottom, for manual collection and disposal of condensed water.
  • Continuous Drain Port: Located on the back, for connecting a hose for continuous drainage.
  • Casters (Wheels): Four wheels on the bottom for easy mobility.

4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the dehumidifier from its packaging. Retain packaging materials for future storage or transport.
  2. Placement: Place the unit upright on a firm, level surface in the area where dehumidification is desired. Ensure there is at least 8 inches (20 cm) of space on all sides for proper airflow. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a dedicated, grounded 120V AC, 60Hz electrical outlet.
  4. Drainage Options:
    • Manual Drainage (Water Bucket): The unit will collect water in the internal bucket. When the bucket is full, the unit will automatically shut off and an indicator light will illuminate. Empty the bucket and reinsert it to resume operation.
    • Continuous Drainage (Hose Connection): For continuous operation without emptying the bucket, connect a standard garden hose (not included, but a tube for this purpose is often supplied) to the continuous drain port on the back of the unit. Ensure the hose is sloped downwards to a floor drain or sink to allow gravity drainage.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: Press the Power button on the control panel to turn the unit on or off.
  • Setting Desired Humidity: Use the Up/Down arrows on the control panel to set your desired humidity level (e.g., 40%–60% relative humidity is generally recommended). The unit will operate until the room humidity reaches the set level, then cycle on and off to maintain it.
  • Fan Speed: Adjust the fan speed (Low, Medium, High) using the Fan Speed button. Higher fan speeds will remove moisture more quickly but may produce more noise.

5.2. Operating Modes

  • Continuous Mode: In this mode, the unit will run continuously regardless of the humidity level. This is useful for very damp conditions or when using continuous drainage.
  • Timer Mode: Use the Timer button to set a specific time (e.g., 2, 4, 8 hours) for the unit to operate before automatically turning off.
  • Sleep Mode: This mode operates the unit at a lower fan speed and dims the display lights for quieter operation during sleep.

5.3. Smart Features (App Control)

This Midea dehumidifier can be controlled via a smartphone application. Download the Midea app from your device's app store and follow the in-app instructions to connect your dehumidifier. The app allows you to:

  • Remotely monitor and adjust humidity levels.
  • Receive notifications when the water bucket is full.
  • Change operating modes and settings from anywhere.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Emptying the Water Bucket

  1. When the water bucket is full, the unit will stop operating and an indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Carefully pull out the water bucket from the front of the unit.
  3. Empty the collected water into a sink or drain.
  4. Slide the empty bucket back into the unit until it clicks into place. The unit will resume operation.

6.2. Cleaning the Air Filter

Regular cleaning of the air filter is crucial for optimal performance and air quality. A dirty filter can reduce efficiency and increase energy consumption.

  1. Unplug the dehumidifier from the power outlet.
  2. Locate the air filter on the back of the unit.
  3. Remove the filter by gently pulling it out.
  4. Clean the filter using a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and debris. For heavier dirt, wash the filter with warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to air dry completely before reinserting.
  5. Once dry, slide the filter back into its slot.

6.3. General Cleaning and Storage

  • Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • For long-term storage, ensure the water bucket is empty and the unit is clean and dry. Store in an upright position in a cool, dry place.
