2. Safety Information

3.1 Components and Controls

The ENERLITES HET07 timer features an LCD display and several buttons for configuration and operation:
- R (Reset): Resets all settings to factory defaults.
- PRG (Program): Enters programming mode to set ON/OFF times.
- DAY: Navigates through days of the week during time setting or programming.
- HOUR: Adjusts the hour during time setting or programming. Also activates DST (Daylight Saving Time) when pressed with MIN.
- MIN: Adjusts the minute during time setting or programming. Also activates RND (Random) mode when pressed with HOUR.
- M/R (Mode/Review): Switches between AUTO, ON, and OFF modes. Also reviews programmed events.
- MAN (Manual): Manual override button to turn the connected device ON or OFF without affecting programmed settings.

4. Setup
4.1 Initial Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the timer from its packaging.
- Plug In: Insert the timer into a standard 120V AC grounded wall outlet. The LCD display should illuminate.
- Clear Memory: Use a small pointed object (like a pen tip) to press the recessed R (Reset) button. This clears any pre-set programs and ensures a fresh start.
- Charge Battery: Allow the timer to remain plugged in for at least 15 minutes to charge the internal backup battery. This ensures settings are retained if power is lost.
4.2 Setting Current Time and Day
- Press the CLOCK button (if available, otherwise proceed to step 2).
- Press the DAY button repeatedly to select the current day of the week (MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU).
- Press the HOUR button to set the current hour. Pay attention to AM/PM indicators.
- Press the MIN button to set the current minute.
- Once the time and day are set, the display will return to normal operation after a few seconds of inactivity.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Programming ON/OFF Times
The timer allows for up to 18 ON/OFF programs. Each program can be set for individual days or blocks of days.
- Press the PRG button once to enter programming mode. The display will show '1 ON'.
- Press DAY to select the desired day(s) for this program. Options include individual days (MO, TU, etc.), weekdays (MO TU WE TH FR), weekends (SA SU), or all days (MO TU WE TH FR SA SU).
- Press HOUR to set the ON hour.
- Press MIN to set the ON minute.
- Press PRG again. The display will show '1 OFF'.
- Repeat steps 2-4 to set the OFF time for the same program.
- Press PRG again to move to the next program ('2 ON') or to exit programming mode if no further programs are needed.
- To review programs, press M/R repeatedly in normal operating mode.
5.2 Random Mode (RND)
The random mode feature can be used to deter intruders by making it appear as if someone is home. When activated, the timer will randomly turn the connected device ON and OFF within a set window.
- In normal operating mode, press and hold the HOUR and MIN buttons simultaneously until 'RND' appears on the display.
- To deactivate, press and hold HOUR and MIN again until 'RND' disappears.

5.3 Daylight Saving Time (DST)
To adjust for Daylight Saving Time:
- In normal operating mode, press and hold the DAY and HOUR buttons simultaneously until 'DST' appears on the display. The time will advance by one hour.
- To revert, press and hold DAY and HOUR again until 'DST' disappears. The time will go back one hour.
5.4 Manual Override (MAN)
To manually turn the connected device ON or OFF without affecting the programmed schedule:
- Press the MAN button. The display will show 'ON' or 'OFF' and the device will switch accordingly.
- Pressing MAN again will toggle the state. The timer will revert to its programmed schedule at the next scheduled ON/OFF event.
5.5 Mode Selection (M/R)
Press the M/R button to cycle through the operating modes: AUTO, ON, and OFF.
- AUTO: The timer operates according to the programmed schedule.
- ON: The connected device remains continuously ON, overriding the schedule.
- OFF: The connected device remains continuously OFF, overriding the schedule.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Battery Backup
The ENERLITES HET07 timer includes an internal rechargeable battery that maintains programmed settings for up to 14 days during a power outage. No user maintenance is required for this battery. If the display is blank or dim after a power outage, plug the timer into an active outlet for at least 15 minutes to recharge the battery.
6.2 Cleaning
To clean the timer, unplug it from the wall outlet. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
