5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your generator. Always refer to the owner's manual for detailed maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Oil Level Check: Always check the engine oil level before each use. The low oil sensor will alert you if the oil level is insufficient.
- Air Filter: Regularly inspect and clean the air filter to ensure proper engine function.
- Spark Plug: Inspect and clean or replace the spark plug as recommended in the manual.
- Fuel System: For gasoline, use a fuel stabilizer if storing for extended periods. For propane, ensure connections are clean and free of leaks.
6. Troubleshooting
For common issues, consult the troubleshooting section of your owner's manual. Here are some general points:
- CO Alert: The generator is equipped with a CO Alert system. If carbon monoxide is detected, the generator will automatically shut down. Move the generator to a fresh air location and allow it to cool before attempting to restart. If the CO Alert light remains on, refer to the manual for further instructions.
- Engine Not Starting: Check fuel levels (gasoline or propane), ensure the battery switch is on, and verify the spark plug connection.
- No Power Output: Check the main breaker on the control panel. Ensure all connected devices are within the generator's wattage capacity.
