1. Introduction

2. Safety Information

  • Power Source: Use only the provided power adapter. Ensure the voltage matches the requirements specified on the adapter.
  • Water and Moisture: Do not expose the unit to rain, moisture, or dripping/splashing liquids. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as vases, on the unit.
  • Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not block ventilation openings.
  • Heat: Keep the unit away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  • Cleaning: Unplug the unit from the power outlet before cleaning. Use a dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Servicing: Do not attempt to service this product yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
  • CD Player: Handle CDs by their edges. Do not touch the playing surface.

4. Product Overview

4.1 Main Unit

The Oakcastle HIFI100 features a compact design with integrated speakers, a vertical CD player, and a clear LED display. Control buttons are located on the top panel for easy access.

4.2 Remote Control

The included remote control provides full functionality for the HIFI100, allowing you to manage playback, adjust volume, select sources, and access advanced settings from a distance.

Note: The remote control requires 2x AAA batteries (not included).

5. Setup

5.1 Power Connection

  1. Connect the power adapter to the DC IN port on the back of the HIFI100 unit.
  2. Plug the power adapter into a suitable wall outlet.

5.2 FM Antenna Connection

For optimal FM radio reception, connect the supplied FM wire antenna to the FM ANT port on the back of the unit. Extend the antenna fully and position it for the best signal.

5.3 Wall Mounting (Optional)

The HIFI100 can be wall-mounted to save space. Ensure you use appropriate screws and anchors for your wall type (not supplied). Consult a professional if you are unsure about wall mounting procedures.

5.4 Initial Power On

Press the Power button on the unit or remote control to turn on the system. The LED display will illuminate.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Controls

  • Power: Press the POWER button to turn the unit on or off.
  • Volume: Use the VOLUME +/- buttons on the unit or remote to adjust the sound level.
  • Source: Press the SOURCE button to cycle through available input modes: CD, Bluetooth, FM, AUX.

6.2 CD Player Operation

  1. Loading a CD: Gently push the CD door upwards to reveal the CD slot. Carefully insert a CD with the label side facing you. The vertical loading mechanism requires a firm but gentle push until the CD clicks into place.
  2. Unloading a CD: To remove a CD, gently pull it outwards from the slot. Take care not to bend the disc.
  3. Playback: After loading, the unit will automatically detect and begin playing the CD. Use the PLAY/PAUSE, STOP, SKIP FORWARD, and SKIP BACKWARD buttons for control.
  4. Repeat/Random Play: Use the remote control to select repeat modes (single track, all tracks, folder) or random play.
  5. Program Playback: The remote control allows you to program a sequence of tracks for playback. Refer to the remote control section for detailed instructions.

6.3 Bluetooth Operation

  1. Select Bluetooth Mode: Press the SOURCE button until 'Bluetooth' appears on the display. The unit will enter pairing mode, indicated by a flashing Bluetooth icon.
  2. Pairing: On your Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet), search for available Bluetooth devices. Select 'Oakcastle HIFI100' from the list.
  3. Connection: Once paired, the Bluetooth icon on the HIFI100 display will become solid, indicating a successful connection. You can now stream audio from your device.

6.4 FM Radio Operation

  1. Select FM Mode: Press the SOURCE button until 'FM' appears on the display.
  2. Auto Scan: Press and hold the SCAN button (or equivalent on remote) to automatically scan and save available FM stations to presets.
  3. Manual Tuning: Use the TUNE +/- buttons to manually adjust the frequency.
  4. Access Presets: Use the PRESET +/- buttons on the remote to navigate through saved stations. The HIFI100 supports up to 20 FM presets.

6.5 AUX Input Operation

Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player) to the AUX IN port on the unit using a 3.5mm audio cable (not supplied). Select 'AUX' mode using the SOURCE button. Audio from the connected device will play through the HIFI100 speakers.

6.6 Clock and Alarm Settings

The HIFI100 features a digital clock and an alarm function. All clock and alarm settings are controlled via the remote control. Refer to the remote control section of this manual for specific button functions to set the time and configure alarms. You can set the alarm to wake you with a beep, CD playback, or FM radio.

6.7 Equalizer Settings

The HIFI100 offers preset equalizer options to customize your listening experience. These settings are accessible only via the remote control:

  • Preset EQ: Cycle through 'Classic', 'Rock', 'Pop', 'Jazz', and 'Flat' modes.
  • X-Bass: Activate or deactivate the X-Bass function for enhanced low-frequency sound.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents.
  • CD Care: Keep CDs clean and free from scratches. Store them in their cases when not in use.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the ventilation openings are not obstructed by dust or debris.
