2. Safety Information
Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury.
- Read all instructions before using the appliance.
- Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
- Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
- Use only as described in this manual. Use only manufacturer's recommended attachments.
- Do not use with a damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, return it to a service center.
- Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
- Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
- Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
- Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
- Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
- Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use in areas where they may be present.
- Do not use without dust bag and/or filters in place.
- Turn off all controls before unplugging.
- Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
- Store the appliance indoors. Put the appliance away after use to prevent trip hazards.
- Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before picking up or carrying the appliance.
- Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
- Use appliances only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
- When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
- Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
- Do not use a battery pack or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
- Do not expose a battery pack or appliance to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 130°C (265°F) may cause explosion.
- Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or appliance outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside of the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.
- Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.
- Do not modify or attempt to repair the appliance or the battery pack (as applicable) except as indicated in the instructions for use and care.

4. Setup
4.1 Assembly
- Attach the Power Head: Align the power head with the bottom of the extension tube and push firmly until it clicks into place.
- Attach the Main Unit: Align the main unit (motor/dust bin) with the top of the extension tube and push firmly until it clicks into place.
- Install Battery: If the battery is separate, slide it into the battery compartment on the main unit until it clicks. Ensure it is securely seated.
4.2 Charging the Battery
Before first use, fully charge the battery. A full charge typically takes approximately 4 hours.
- Connect the adapter to a power outlet.
- Connect the charging cable to the charging port on the battery or the main unit (if charging in place).
- The LCD display will indicate charging status. When fully charged, the display will show 100%.
- Unplug the charger once charging is complete.
4.3 Wall Mount Installation (Optional)
The included wall mount allows for convenient storage and charging.
- Choose a suitable location near a power outlet, ensuring it is at a height that allows the vacuum to hang freely.
- Mark the drilling points using the wall mount as a template.
- Drill holes and insert wall plugs (if necessary for your wall type).
- Secure the wall mount to the wall using the provided screws.
- Hang the vacuum cleaner on the wall mount. The charging port on the main unit can align with the charging connector on the mount (if applicable) or you can plug the adapter directly into the battery.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off and Mode Selection
- To turn on, press the power button located on the main unit.
- The vacuum will start in ECO mode. Press the mode selection button to cycle through AUTO and MAX modes.
- To turn off, press the power button again.

5.2 Understanding Power Modes and Runtime
- ECO Mode: Provides sufficient suction for light cleaning tasks with an extended runtime of up to 80 minutes. Ideal for daily quick clean-ups.
- AUTO Mode: Intelligently adjusts suction levels based on floor type and debris, offering an impressive 45 minutes of runtime. Suitable for general cleaning.
- MAX Mode: Delivers maximum power for stubborn dirt and deep cleaning, with a runtime of approximately 15 minutes. Use for heavily soiled areas.
5.3 Using as a Handheld Vacuum
The Gtech AirFOX Platinum easily converts into a handheld vacuum for versatile cleaning.
- Press the release button at the top of the extension tube to detach the main unit.
- Attach desired accessory (crevice tool, brush tool, upholstery tool, or flexible tool) directly to the main unit's suction inlet.
- Proceed with cleaning stairs, upholstery, car interiors, or other hard-to-reach areas.

5.4 Using Attachments
The various attachments enhance the cleaning capabilities of your vacuum.
- Crevice Tool: Ideal for narrow gaps, corners, and edges.
- Brush Tool: Suitable for dusting surfaces, blinds, and delicate items.
- Upholstery Tool: Designed for cleaning fabric surfaces like sofas, chairs, and curtains.
- Flexible Tool: Extends reach for awkward spaces, such as under car seats or behind furniture.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your Gtech AirFOX Platinum.
6.1 Emptying the Dust Bin
Empty the dust bin when the 'bin full' indicator appears on the LCD display or when debris reaches the MAX fill line.
- Ensure the vacuum is turned off.
- Locate the dust bin release button on the main unit. Press it to detach the dust bin.
- Position the dust bin over a waste bin. Press the dust bin release latch to open the bottom flap and empty contents.
- Close the flap securely and reattach the dust bin to the main unit until it clicks.
6.2 Cleaning the Filter
The filter should be cleaned regularly to maintain suction power. It is recommended to clean the filter monthly or more frequently with heavy use.
- Remove the dust bin as described above.
- Twist and pull out the filter assembly from the dust bin.
- Tap the filter gently over a waste bin to remove loose dust.
- Rinse the filter under cold running water until the water runs clear. Do not use detergents.
- Allow the filter to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinserting. Ensure it is completely dry to prevent damage to the motor.
- Reassemble the filter and dust bin, then reattach to the main unit.

6.3 Cleaning the Motorised Brush Bar
Periodically check the brush bar for tangled hair or debris and remove as necessary.
- Ensure the vacuum is turned off and disconnected from the charger.
- Turn the power head upside down.
- Locate the brush bar release mechanism (usually a latch or screw on the side). Open it to remove the brush bar.
- Carefully cut away any tangled hair or threads using scissors.
- Wipe the brush bar and its housing with a dry cloth.
- Reinsert the brush bar and secure the release mechanism.

7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Gtech AirFOX Platinum, refer to the following table for common problems and solutions.
