4. Setup and Installation

Before installation, ensure the power supply is disconnected. The PZ2 controller supports both single color and dual white (CCT) LED strip lights. Please follow the appropriate wiring diagram for your LED strip type.

4.1 Wiring for Single Color LED Strip

For single color LED strips, connect the positive (+) wire of the LED strip to the V+ output terminal and the negative (-) wire to the W output terminal on the controller. Ensure the input power supply (DC 12-48V) is connected to the V+ and V- input terminals.

4.2 Wiring for Dual White (CCT) LED Strip

For dual white (CCT) LED strips, connect the common positive (+) wire of the LED strip to the V+ output terminal. Connect the Warm White (WW) wire to the WW output terminal and the Cold White (CW) wire to the CW output terminal. Ensure the input power supply (DC 12-48V) is connected to the V+ and V- input terminals.

Important: Always ensure correct polarity and secure connections to prevent damage to the controller or LED strips. The maximum load for a DC 12V LED strip is 240W (20A * 12V), and for a DC 24V LED strip is 480W (20A * 24V).

5. Operating Instructions

The PZ2 controller offers multiple ways to operate your LED strip lights.

5.1 Using the 'SET' Button

  • Activate Linking Mode: Press the 'SET' button once to activate linking mode.
  • Change Output Mode: Press the 'SET' button continuously to cycle through different output modes (e.g., single color, dual white).
  • Activate Zigbee Pairing Mode: Long press the 'SET' button for 3 seconds until the indicator flashes quickly. This puts the controller into Zigbee pairing mode.

5.2 Smart Control via Zigbee Gateway

To control the PZ2 controller with a smartphone app or voice commands, a Zigbee 3.0 gateway is required. The controller is compatible with LGIDTECH's ZB-Box2 or ZB-Box3 gateways, as well as Philips Hue, Amazon Echo Plus (2nd Gen), Echo (4th Gen), Echo Studio, Echo Show (2nd Gen), and IKEA TRÅDFRI gateways that support Zigbee 3.0.

Once paired with a compatible Zigbee gateway, you can use the respective smartphone application (e.g., Philips Hue app, Amazon Alexa app) to control brightness, color temperature (for CCT strips), and other functions.

5.3 Remote Control

The PZ2 controller can also be controlled using various compatible remote controllers such as FUT007, FUT096, FUT092, FUT089, B2, B3, B4, and B8. Refer to the specific remote controller's manual for pairing instructions and functionality.

6. Maintenance

The LGIDTECH PZ2 LED controller requires minimal maintenance. Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials. Ensure the controller is installed in a dry environment, as it is not water resistant.

7. Troubleshooting

  • LED Strip Not Lighting Up:
    • Check if the power supply is connected correctly and providing the correct voltage (DC 12-48V).
    • Verify all wiring connections between the power supply, controller, and LED strip are secure and correct according to the diagrams in Section 4.
    • Ensure the LED strip itself is functional.
  • Controller Not Responding to App/Voice Commands:
    • Confirm that a compatible Zigbee 3.0 gateway is properly set up and connected to your network.
    • Ensure the PZ2 controller is successfully paired with your Zigbee gateway. Try re-entering pairing mode (long press 'SET' button for 3 seconds) and re-pairing if necessary.
    • Check the internet connection of your gateway and smart device.
  • Controller Not Responding to Remote:
    • Ensure the remote controller is compatible with the PZ2.
    • Check the remote's battery.
    • Follow the remote's specific pairing instructions to link it with the PZ2 controller.
  • Intermittent Control:
    • Reduce the distance between the controller and the Zigbee gateway or remote.
    • Minimize obstructions (e.g., thick walls, metal objects) that might interfere with wireless signals.
    • Check for other devices operating on the 2.4GHz frequency that might cause interference.
