Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your HOU Magnetic Keyboard Case. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the product to ensure proper function and longevity.

Compatibility

This keyboard case is compatible only with the following iPad models:

  • iPad 11 (A16) (2025 models: A3354, A3355, A3356)
  • iPad 10 (10.9-inch, 2022 models: A2696, A2757, A2777)

To verify your iPad model number, check the back of your device. Ensure compatibility before use.

Setup

1. Attaching Your iPad

The keyboard case features powerful magnets for secure attachment. Align your iPad with the magnetic backplate of the case. The iPad will snap into place, ensuring a stable connection.

2. Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Ensure the keyboard is powered on and fully charged (refer to the Maintenance section for charging instructions).
  2. Turn on the keyboard using the power switch, typically located on the side or back of the keyboard.
  3. On your iPad, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
  4. Turn on Bluetooth. Your iPad will search for nearby devices.
  5. Select "HOU Keyboard" or a similar name from the list of available devices.
  6. If prompted, enter the pairing code displayed on your iPad using the keyboard and press Enter.
  7. Once paired, the keyboard will show as "Connected" on your iPad's Bluetooth settings.

Operating Instructions

1. Adjustable Viewing Angle

The case features a 135° adjustable stand, allowing you to set your iPad at various viewing angles for comfortable typing, viewing, or drawing. Simply adjust the iPad's position on the magnetic backplate to achieve your desired angle.

2. Keyboard Functions

  • Backlight Control: The keyboard features 7-color backlighting with 3 adjustable brightness levels. Use the dedicated backlight keys (often a light bulb icon or Fn + specific keys) to cycle through colors and adjust brightness.
  • Shortcut Keys: The keyboard includes 12 types of shortcut keys for quick access to common iPad functions. Refer to the keyboard layout for specific shortcuts.
  • Key Travel: The keys offer a 1.3mm key travel for a comfortable and responsive typing experience.

3. Multi-Touch Trackpad

The integrated AG glass trackpad supports multi-touch gestures for precise navigation. It is designed to be smooth and resistant to fingerprints.

Common gestures include:

  • Single-finger tap: Click/Select
  • Two-finger scroll: Scroll up/down/left/right
  • Pinch to zoom: Zoom in/out
  • Three-finger swipe: Switch between apps or access multitasking view.
  • Refer to iPadOS settings for a complete list of supported gestures.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

The case is made from semi-silicone leather, which is resistant to dirt and easy to clean. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the surface. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

2. Charging the Keyboard

The keyboard has a built-in 300mAh battery. When the battery is low, connect the keyboard to a power source using the provided USB-C cable. The charging indicator light will show the charging status.

  • Average charging time: Approximately 2 hours.
  • Standby time: Up to 168 hours (7 days).

Troubleshooting

1. Keyboard Not Connecting via Bluetooth

  • Ensure the keyboard is powered on and fully charged.
  • Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your iPad.
  • If the keyboard was previously paired, try "forgetting" the device in your iPad's Bluetooth settings and then re-pairing.
  • Restart both your iPad and the keyboard.
  • Ensure no other Bluetooth devices are interfering with the connection.

2. Keys Not Responding

  • Verify the keyboard is connected via Bluetooth.
  • Check the keyboard's battery level. Charge if necessary.
  • If the keyboard goes into sleep mode, tap any key a couple of times to wake it up.

3. Trackpad Not Working

  • Ensure the keyboard is connected.
  • Check iPadOS settings to ensure trackpad support is enabled.
  • Clean the trackpad surface to remove any dirt or debris that might interfere with touch detection.
