Setup

1. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge your headphones using the supplied USB Type-C cable. Connect the USB-A end to a compatible USB power adapter (not supplied) and the USB-C end to the charging port on the headphones.

2. Power On

Press and hold the power button on the left earcup for approximately 2 seconds until the indicator light flashes.

3. Bluetooth Pairing

1. With the headphones powered on, press and hold the power button for approximately 7 seconds until the indicator light flashes blue rapidly. This indicates pairing mode.
2. On your device (smartphone, tablet, computer), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
3. Select "WHULT900NW" (or similar name) from the list of devices.
4. Once connected, the indicator light will flash blue slowly.

4. Sony Headphones Connect App

For enhanced features and customization, download the "Sony Headphones Connect" app from your device's app store. The app allows you to adjust sound settings, noise canceling modes, and more.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

• Power On: Press and hold the power button for about 2 seconds.
• Power Off: Press and hold the power button for about 2 seconds until the indicator light turns off.

ULT Button (Bass Boost)

Press the ULT button on the left earcup to cycle through different bass modes: ULT1 (deep bass), ULT2 (even deeper bass), and Off. The LED on the button will illuminate to indicate the active mode.

Noise Canceling / Ambient Sound Mode

Press the NC/AMB button on the left earcup to switch between Noise Canceling and Ambient Sound modes. Noise canceling blocks out external sounds, while Ambient Sound mode allows you to hear your surroundings.

Media Control (Touch Panel)

The right earcup features a touch panel for media control:

• Play/Pause: Double-tap the center of the touch panel.
• Next Track: Swipe forward.
• Previous Track: Swipe backward.
• Volume Up: Swipe up.
• Volume Down: Swipe down.

Hands-Free Calling

• Answer/End Call: Double-tap the center of the touch panel.
• Reject Call: Press and hold the center of the touch panel.

Intelligent Wearing Detection

The headphones automatically pause music when removed and resume when put back on. This feature can be customized or disabled via the Sony Headphones Connect app.

Multipoint Connection

Your ULT WEAR headphones can connect to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. To switch between devices, simply start playback on the desired device. The headphones will automatically switch the audio source.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the headphones with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use alcohol, benzene, thinner, or other chemical cleaners.
• Storage: When not in use, store the headphones in their protective case to prevent damage. Avoid exposing them to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
• Battery Care: To maintain battery health, avoid fully discharging the headphones frequently. Charge them regularly, even if not used for extended periods.

Troubleshooting

No Power

• Ensure the headphones are charged. Connect them to a power source using the USB-C cable.

Cannot Pair via Bluetooth

• Make sure the headphones are in pairing mode (rapidly flashing blue indicator light).
• Ensure your device's Bluetooth is enabled and within range.
• Try restarting both the headphones and your device.
• If previously paired, remove the headphones from your device's Bluetooth list and attempt to pair again.

Poor Sound Quality or No Sound

• Check the volume levels on both the headphones and your connected device.
• Ensure the headphones are properly connected via Bluetooth.
• Move closer to your connected device to avoid interference.
• If using the audio cable, ensure it is securely plugged into both the headphones and the device.

Noise Canceling Not Effective

• Ensure Noise Canceling mode is active (not Ambient Sound mode).
• Adjust the Noise Canceling Optimizer via the Sony Headphones Connect app.
• Ensure the earcups are properly sealed around your ears.
