4. Setup and Installation

The FIREGAS Range Hood offers versatile installation options: ducted (top or back venting) or ductless (recirculation mode). Ensure you have the necessary tools and follow local building codes.

4.1. Installation Options

  • Top Venting: Air is exhausted vertically through a duct connected to the top of the hood.
  • Back Venting: Air is exhausted horizontally through a duct connected to the rear of the hood.
  • Recirculation Mode (Ductless): Air is filtered through charcoal filters and recirculated back into the kitchen. This mode is suitable for installations where external venting is not possible.

  2. Marking: Use the provided installation diagram to mark the positions for the air outlet, power connection hole, and fixing screws on the cabinet or wall.
  3. Drilling: Drill holes for mounting screws and cut out the air outlet and power connection holes as marked.
  4. Mounting: Align the range hood with the drilled holes. Secure the hood to the cabinet using the provided screws.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect the range hood's power cord to the electrical outlet.
  6. Ductwork (if applicable): For ducted installations, connect the exhaust pipe to the hood's air outlet and secure it with metal foil duct tape to ensure airtight joints.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your range hood.

6.1. Aluminum Filters

The multi-layer aluminum mesh filters effectively trap grease and oil. They are dishwasher safe and reusable. Clean them regularly (e.g., every 2 weeks, depending on usage) to maintain suction power.

  • To remove: Push the latch on the filter and pull downwards.
  • To clean: Place in a dishwasher on a high-temperature cycle without detergent, or wash by hand with warm, soapy water.
  • To reinstall: Align the filter with the slots and push upwards until it clicks into place.
