1. Setup and Installation

The FIREGAS FGS-USD66Y75AC range hood is designed for wall-mount installation and can be configured for both ducted (exhaust) and ductless (recirculation) operation.

1.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully unpack all components and inspect for any damage. Ensure all parts listed in the 'Package Include' section are present. Remove the blue protective film from the stainless steel surfaces before installation.

1.2 Chimney Adjustment

The chimney is adjustable to fit ceiling heights between 7.5 and 8.5 feet. For ceilings between 9 and 10 feet, an additional chimney extension (model #FGS-TD24S-ZST) is required and sold separately.

1.3 Ducted vs. Ductless Configuration

This range hood supports both ducted and ductless installations. For ducted operation, connect the exhaust pipe to an external vent. For ductless (recirculation) operation, install the included charcoal filters (Model: CC110) to filter odors and recirculate air back into the kitchen.

2. Operating Instructions

The range hood features user-friendly push-button controls for fan speed and lighting.

2.1 Fan Speed Control

The unit is equipped with a 3-speed exhaust fan, offering a maximum airflow of 450 CFM. Select the appropriate speed based on your cooking needs to effectively remove smoke, odors, and water vapor.

2.2 LED Lighting

Activate the integrated 2-watt LED light to illuminate your cooking area. The LED light is energy-saving, bright, and non-flickering.

3. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your range hood.

3.1 Cleaning Aluminum Filters

The multi-layer aluminum filters are reusable and designed to capture grease and harmful substances. Clean them regularly to maintain efficient airflow and filtration.

  • Remove the filters by pulling the spring release latch.
  • Wash filters in hot soapy water or in a dishwasher.
  • Allow filters to dry completely before reinstalling.

3.2 Replacing Charcoal Filters (Ductless Mode)

If operating in ductless mode, the charcoal filters (Model: CC110) should be replaced periodically, typically every 3-6 months depending on usage, to ensure effective odor removal.

3.3 Surface Cleaning

The range hood is made of 430-grade stainless steel. Clean the exterior surfaces with a non-abrasive stainless steel cleaner and a soft cloth to prevent scratches and maintain its appearance.
