1. Introduction

4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up your solar drip irrigation system:

4.1. Prepare Water Source and Connections

  1. Cut Tubing: Cut the water pipe into desired lengths according to the layout of your plants.
  2. Connect Input Pipe: Install the black plastic water pipe into the 'IN' inlet on the control unit.
  3. Attach Water Pump Filter: Link the water pump filter to the end of the input pipe.
  4. Place in Water Source: Put the water level sensor and the water pump filter into your water container (e.g., a bucket). Ensure the water level sensor reaches the bottom of the container to accurately detect low water levels.

4.2. Install Drippers and Connect Pipes

  1. Connect Output Pipe: Insert the main black plastic hose into the 'OUT' outlet on the control unit.
  2. Cut Short Hoses: Cut short sections of the black plastic hose to connect to the drippers.
  3. Connect Barb Fittings: Use the barb fittings to create branches from the main hose to individual drippers.
  4. Extend Lines: Connect additional sections of black water pipe as needed to reach all plants.

4.3. Position Drippers and Solar Panel

  1. Insert Drippers: Insert the blue drippers into the ends of the short hoses.
  2. Position Drippers: Place the blue drippers into the soil close to the roots of each plant.
  3. Connect Solar Panel: Connect the solar panel power cable to the control unit.

4.4. Final Assembly and Activation

  1. Attach Ground Stake: Connect the plug to the ground stake.
  2. Mount Solar Panel: Mount the bracket onto the solar panel and secure it in a location with ample sunlight. The solar panel is 0-180 degrees adjustable for optimal sun exposure.
  3. Activate System: Click the ON/OFF switch to start using the system.

5. Operating Instructions

The system offers 6 watering timer modes to customize your plant's hydration schedule. The control panel allows you to set both watering duration and frequency.

5.1. Setting Timer Modes

Use the 'MODE' button on the control panel to cycle through the available settings:

  • Watering Duration Options: 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes.
  • Watering Frequency Options: Every 12 hours, Every 24 hours.

The watering flow rate is approximately 400ml/min. Adjust the number of drippers and watering frequency based on your plants' specific water needs and environmental conditions.

6. Maintenance

  • Water Pump Filter: Regularly check and clean the water pump filter to prevent clogging and ensure optimal water flow.
  • Solar Panel: Keep the solar panel clean and free from debris to maximize charging efficiency.
  • Battery: The built-in 2200mAh battery can sustain up to 15 plants for 15-20 days on a full charge. If used indoors, recharge the unit outdoors every 3 weeks to maintain battery life.
  • Anti-Siphon Accessories: The system is equipped with anti-siphon accessories to prevent water from flowing back, maintaining system hygiene.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Water Shortage Alarm: If the system emits an alarm or shuts down, check the water level in your container. The water level sensor will alert you when the water source is depleted. Refill the container promptly.
  • No Water Flow/Clogging: If water is not flowing, check the water pump filter for debris. Clean it if necessary. Ensure all pipe connections are secure and free from kinks.
  • System Not Charging: Ensure the solar panel is positioned in direct sunlight and is clean. Check the connection between the solar panel and the control unit.
  • Inconsistent Watering: Verify that the selected watering duration and frequency settings are appropriate for your plants. Adjust as needed.
