Setup

1. Charging the Device

The L023 40W Pro LED Video Light features a built-in 3400mAh battery. It supports two charging methods:

  • DC 20V/5A Charging: Use a compatible DC power adapter (sold separately).
  • Type-C PD Fast Charging: Connect a Type-C PD charger (sold separately) with an output of 65W/20V or above. The device can be used while charging. Full charge takes approximately 3 hours.

Important: Ensure your Type-C charger and cable support PD 65W/20V or higher for optimal fast charging. Using an incompatible charger may result in slow charging or no charge.

2. Mounting the Light

The L023 40W Pro is designed for versatile mounting:

  • 1/4" Screw Hole: A standard 1/4" threaded hole on the bottom allows direct mounting to tripods, light stands, or magic arms.
  • Mini Bowens Mount: The light features a Mini Bowens Mount for attaching the included reflector and diffusion dome, or other compatible accessories.
  • Direct Use: Its lightweight design (490g) allows for handheld use, or direct mounting on cameras and stabilizers using a 1/4" screw magic arm.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

Locate the power switch on the device. Flip the switch to the "ON" position to power on the light. To power off, flip the switch to the "OFF" position.

2. Adjusting Color Temperature (CCT)

The L023 40W Pro offers a bicolor temperature range from 2500K (warm) to 6500K (cool). Use the "CCT/FX" knob to adjust the color temperature to your desired setting. Rotate the knob clockwise to increase the Kelvin value (cooler light) and counter-clockwise to decrease it (warmer light).

3. Adjusting Brightness (DIM/MAX)

Use the "DIM/MAX" knob to adjust the brightness. The brightness can be adjusted from 0% to 100% in regular mode. For increased output, long-press the "DIM/MAX" knob to enter overclocking mode, allowing brightness adjustment from 101% to 125% (up to 50W output).

4. Activating Lighting Effects (FX)

The light includes 8 preset lighting scene effects. Long-press the "CCT/FX" knob to switch into effect mode. Rotate the "CCT/FX" knob to cycle through the following effects:

  • Lightning
  • TV
  • Candlelight
  • Broken Bulb
  • Pulse Flash
  • Paparazzi
  • Emergency
  • High-Low Beam

Adjust the brightness of the effects using the "DIM/MAX" knob.

Maintenance

  • Keep the device clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Avoid exposing the light to water, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself. Contact customer support for assistance.
  • Store the light in the provided velvet bag when not in use to protect it from dust and scratches.

Troubleshooting

1. Light Not Turning On

  • Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the light to a power source using either DC or Type-C PD charging.
  • Verify the power switch is in the "ON" position.

2. Charging Issues

  • If using Type-C PD charging, confirm your adapter and cable provide at least 65W/20V output.
  • Check for any damage to the charging ports or cables.

3. Fan Noise

The light has a built-in fan for cooling. While designed to be quiet, some fan noise may be audible, especially during prolonged use at high brightness. Ensure the ventilation holes are not obstructed.
