Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your Electro-Voice ZLX-12P-G2 12-inch 2-way 1000W Bluetooth-enabled powered loudspeaker. Setup

1. Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all items listed below are present and undamaged. If any items are missing or damaged, contact your dealer immediately.

2. Physical Placement

The ZLX-12P-G2 offers versatile placement options:

• Speaker Stand Mounting: Insert the loudspeaker onto the included Auray SS-4420 Steel Speaker Stand using the integrated pole cup. Ensure the stand is stable and properly secured.
• Floor Wedge Monitor: The enclosure is designed to be used on its side as a floor wedge monitor or kick-back.
• Subwoofer Pole Mounting: The loudspeaker can also be mounted on a subwoofer pole (sold separately).

3. Connections

The ZLX-12P-G2 features a variety of input and output options on its rear panel:

• Input 1 & 2 (XLR-1/4" Combo): Connect microphones, mixers, or other audio sources using XLR or 1/4-inch TRS/TS cables.
• Aux Input (3.5mm): Connect mobile devices, laptops, or other consumer audio sources.
• Mix Out (XLR): Provides a mixed output signal for connecting to additional loudspeakers or recording devices.

4. Power Connection

Connect the supplied IEC power cable to the AC mains input on the rear panel of the loudspeaker and then to a suitable power outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before connecting to power.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

To power on the loudspeaker, ensure all audio connections are made and then flip the power switch to the ON position. To power off, flip the switch to the OFF position. It is recommended to power off the loudspeaker before disconnecting any cables.

2. Bluetooth Pairing

The ZLX-12P-G2 features a built-in Bluetooth receiver for wireless audio streaming and control.

1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device or computer.
2. On the ZLX-12P-G2 rear panel, activate Bluetooth pairing mode (refer to the LCD display and one-knob control for navigation).
3. Search for available Bluetooth devices on your mobile device. The loudspeaker will appear as "ZLX-12P-G2".
4. Select the loudspeaker to pair. Once paired, you can stream audio wirelessly.

3. DSP Control and Input/Output Gain

The integrated DSP (Digital Signal Processor) can be controlled via the one-knob interface and LCD display on the rear panel. This allows for efficient setup and signal adjustment, including:

• Input Gain: Adjust the level for each input (Input 1, Input 2, Aux).
• Output Gain: Control the overall output level.
• EQ Presets: Select from various equalization presets for different applications.
• Subwoofer Integration: Configure settings for use with an external subwoofer.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

To clean the loudspeaker, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish and internal components.

2. Storage

When not in use, store the loudspeaker in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The included Auray Speaker Stand Bag can be used to protect the speaker stand during transport and storage.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your ZLX-12P-G2 loudspeaker, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• No Sound:
  • Ensure the loudspeaker is powered on and the power cable is securely connected.
  • Check that input cables (XLR, 1/4", 3.5mm) are properly connected to both the source and the loudspeaker.
  • Verify that input and output gain levels are not set to minimum.
  • Confirm the audio source is playing and its volume is up.
• Bluetooth Not Connecting:
  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the loudspeaker is in pairing mode.
  • Move your device closer to the loudspeaker to ensure it is within the 10-meter Bluetooth range.
  • Try unpairing and re-pairing the device.
• Distorted Audio:
  • Reduce the input gain on the loudspeaker or the output level from your audio source to prevent clipping.

  • Ensure the DSP settings are appropriate for your application.
• Loudspeaker Not Powering On:
  • Verify the power cable is fully inserted into both the loudspeaker and a working power outlet.
