1. Product Overview

The AVATTO WT198 Smart WiFi Thermostat provides intelligent control over your home's heating system. It integrates with WiFi networks, allowing remote management via the Smart Life/Tuya application and compatibility with popular voice assistants. This thermostat is designed to optimize energy consumption and enhance comfort through customizable weekly programming and advanced features.

2. Installation

2.1 Safety Precautions

• Ensure the main power supply is turned OFF before beginning installation.

2.2 Wiring Diagram

2.3 Mounting

1. Carefully separate the front panel of the thermostat from its backplate.
2. Mount the backplate securely to a standard electrical wall box using the provided screws.
3. Connect the electrical wires to the appropriate terminals on the backplate as per the wiring diagram.
4. Reattach the front panel to the backplate, ensuring it clicks into place.
5. Restore power to the heating system.

3. Initial Setup and App Pairing

3.1 App Installation

Download the Smart Life or Tuya Smart app from your mobile device's app store (Google Play Store for Android, Apple App Store for iOS).

3.2 Device Pairing

1. Ensure your thermostat is powered on and the WiFi icon is blinking, indicating pairing mode. If not, refer to the thermostat's specific instructions to enter pairing mode (often by holding a button for a few seconds).
2. Open the Smart Life/Tuya app and register or log in.
3. Tap the "+" icon in the top right corner to add a device.
4. Select "Small Home Appliance" > "Thermostat" or use the auto-scan feature.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the thermostat to your 2.4GHz WiFi network. Enter your WiFi password when prompted.
6. Once connected, the WiFi icon on the thermostat display will become solid. You can now control the thermostat via the app.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Manual Temperature Adjustment

On the thermostat's display, use the Up (▲) and Down (▼) arrow buttons to manually increase or decrease the desired temperature. The new set temperature will be displayed.

4.2 Operating Modes

The thermostat typically offers multiple operating modes. Press the Mode (M) button to cycle through available modes, which may include:

• Manual Mode: Maintains a constant temperature set by the user.
• Program Mode: Follows the pre-set weekly schedule.
• Temporary Manual Mode: Allows temporary manual adjustment while in Program Mode, reverting to the schedule at the next programmed period.

4.3 Weekly Programming

The AVATTO WT198 allows for detailed weekly programming to match your daily routine. You can set different temperature schedules for weekdays and weekends.

• Weekdays (Monday-Friday): Up to 6 time periods with corresponding temperature settings.
• Weekends (Saturday-Sunday): Up to 2 time periods with corresponding temperature settings.

4.4 Anti-Frost Function

The thermostat includes an anti-frost function. When activated, if the ambient temperature drops below a pre-set minimum (e.g., 5°C), the thermostat will automatically activate the heating system for a short period to prevent pipes from freezing, even if the thermostat is in an 'off' state or set to a very low temperature.

4.5 Temperature Correction

If you find that the thermostat's displayed temperature does not accurately reflect the actual room temperature, you can calibrate it using the temperature correction feature in the app settings.

5. App and Voice Control

5.1 Remote Control via Smart Life/Tuya App

Once paired, the Smart Life/Tuya app allows you to:

• Adjust temperature from anywhere.
• Change operating modes.
• Set and modify weekly schedules.
• Monitor current room temperature.
• Access advanced settings like temperature correction.

5.2 Voice Assistant Integration

The AVATTO WT198 is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home. To enable voice control:

1. Ensure your thermostat is successfully paired with the Smart Life/Tuya app.
2. Open your Amazon Alexa or Google Home app.
3. Search for and enable the "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" skill/service.
4. Link your Smart Life/Tuya account when prompted.
5. Discover devices. Your thermostat should now appear and be controllable via voice commands.

• Thermostat not powering on: Check the main power supply and ensure all wiring connections are secure.
• WiFi icon blinking/not connecting: Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz. Restart your router and the thermostat, then attempt pairing again. Verify your WiFi password.
• Incorrect temperature reading: Use the temperature correction feature in the app settings (refer to Section 4.5).
• Heating not responding: Check the thermostat's mode (ensure it's not in 'Off' or a very low temperature setting). Verify the heating system (boiler) is operational. Check wiring connections.
• App control issues: Ensure your phone has an active internet connection. Update the Smart Life/Tuya app to the latest version.
