5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Hot Lamination

Hot lamination is suitable for most standard documents, photos, and materials that are not sensitive to heat. Use laminating pouches with a thickness between 80 and 125 microns.

  1. Power On: Flip the power switch to the "HOT" position. The power indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Preheating: Allow the laminator to preheat for approximately 1-2 minutes. The ready indicator light will turn green when the optimal temperature is reached.
  3. Prepare Document: Place your document or photo inside a laminating pouch, ensuring it is centered and there is an even border around the edges. The sealed edge of the pouch should be inserted first.
  4. Insert Pouch: Gently insert the sealed edge of the laminating pouch into the feed slot. The laminator will automatically draw the pouch through. Do not force the pouch.
  5. Retrieve Document: Once the laminated document exits the rear slot, allow it to cool on a flat surface before handling to ensure a firm seal.
  6. Power Off: After use, switch the laminator to the "OFF" position and unplug it.

5.2 Cold Lamination

Cold lamination is ideal for heat-sensitive materials such as certain photographs, thermal paper, or documents printed with heat-sensitive inks. Use self-adhesive cold laminating pouches (not included in this package).

  1. Power On: Flip the power switch to the "COLD" position. The power indicator light will illuminate. No preheating is required for cold lamination.
  2. Prepare Document: Place your document inside a self-adhesive cold laminating pouch according to the pouch manufacturer's instructions.
  3. Insert Pouch: Gently insert the sealed edge of the cold laminating pouch into the feed slot. The laminator will draw the pouch through.
  4. Retrieve Document: Once the laminated document exits the rear slot, it is ready for use.
  5. Power Off: After use, switch the laminator to the "OFF" position and unplug it.

5.3 Anti-Jam (ABS) Function

In the event of a misfeed or jam, immediately press and hold the ABS release lever. This will disengage the rollers, allowing you to manually pull the pouch out of the feed slot. Once the pouch is removed, release the lever and resume normal operation.

5.4 Using the Integrated Paper Cutter

The laminator features an integrated paper cutter for precise trimming of documents or laminated items.

  1. Position Document: Place the edge of the paper or laminated document under the cutting guide.
  2. Cut: Slide the cutter blade along the guide to trim the document.
  3. Caution: Exercise care when using the cutter. Keep fingers away from the blade.

5.5 Using the Corner Rounder

The included corner rounder tool allows you to create smooth, rounded corners on your laminated documents for a professional finish and to prevent sharp edges.

  1. Insert Corner: Insert one corner of the laminated document into the slot of the corner rounder.
  2. Press Down: Press down firmly on the top of the tool to cut the corner.
  3. Repeat: Repeat for all desired corners.
