1. Connect Power: Always connect the included 5V1A power adapter to the DC 5.0V port on the switch first. This ensures stable and efficient operation.
2. Choose Your Configuration:
   a. 2 Inputs to 1 Output (Sharing one display between two sources):
   Connect two USB-C source devices (e.g., laptops) to the two input ports (labeled A and B) on the switch using the provided USB C to C cables. Connect your display (e.g., monitor, projector) to the output port of the switch.

   b. 1 Input to 2 Outputs (Switching one source between two displays):
   Connect one USB-C source device (e.g., laptop) to one of the input ports (labeled A or B) on the switch. Connect two displays (e.g., monitors) to the two output ports of the switch. Note: Only one display can be active at a time in this configuration.

Important Notes:

• This product does not support displays with Thunderbolt interfaces, such as the MAC Studio Display.

Using the Alxum USB C Bi-Directional Switch is straightforward:

1. Switching Devices: Press the button on the top of the switch to toggle between the connected input/output devices.
2. LED Indicator: The LED indicator light will illuminate to show which device or port is currently active.
3. Power Delivery and Data Transfer: When multiple devices are connected, only one computer can be charged via Power Delivery (PD) or read data from an external hard drive enclosure at a time. Use the switch button to select the active device for these functions.

  • Confirm that your display and source devices are compatible and not using Thunderbolt interfaces.
  • Try using the included Alxum USB C to C cables, as some third-party cables may not fully support the required specifications.
  • Restart your source devices and display.
• Charging or Data Transfer Issues:
  • Remember that only one computer can be charged or access data at a time. Use the switch button to select the desired device.
  • Ensure your source device, display (for reverse charging), and cables support the specified fast charging (100W) and data transfer (10Gbps) rates.
  • For 10Gbps data transfer, ensure the USB-C to USB-C cable length does not exceed 1-2 meters.
• Flickering Display:
  • This can occur if using unsupported devices like Thunderbolt hubs, cable extenders, or couplers. Connect directly using the provided cables.
  • Ensure your display's refresh rate and resolution settings are compatible with the switch's capabilities (up to 8K@60Hz).
